Delaware County authorities are searching for a driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in Collingdale and then fled the scene.
Collingdale police say the victim, 58-year-old Timothy McCaughan, was in the intersection of Spruce Street and Clifton Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Friday when he was struck by an SUV.
According to police, a witness saw the driver stop, get out of the vehicle, make a comment, then get back into the SUV and speed off, heading south on Clifton Avenue.
The victim was taken to Crozer Chester Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Police are seeking the public's help in identifying the driver in a hit-and-run crash late Thursday that left a man clinging to life.

The big rig jack-knifed at about 5 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-95 near the Washington Avenue exit.
Shortly after the accident, one lane of traffic was able to squeeze by, but crews shutdown the lanes entirely around 6 a.m. to clean-up the accident scene. All lanes were re-opened at about 6:30 a.m.
There were no immediate reports of any injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
State police say a 48-year-old man has died after his kayak overturned in the icy waters of the Susquehanna River in central Pennsylvania.
Troopers from the Punxsutawney barracks say the victim is Edward Heberling Jr., of Westover.
Heberling was kayaking with a relative in Burnside Township, Clearfield County, when his craft capsized, dumping him into the fast-moving water.
The river was partially covered by ice, so crews could not find Heberling in the area where he went into the water about 11 a.m. Saturday.

Several sorority sisters from the University of Delaware were injured when a bus taking about 40 people to a party during homecoming week overturned in a crash with a tractor trailer, authorities said.
The crash occurred just after 10 p.m. Thursday at an intersection in Bear, south of Wilmington, when a tractor trailer ran a red light and hit the bus as it made a left turn, Delaware State Police said. The truck driver, Roberto Figueroa-Gomez, 26, of Miami was issued a summons for failing to stop at a red light, police said.
