The vehicle was traveling north at about 11:40 p.m. on Congaree Road near Goodwin Road when it went left of center. Police report that the driver overcorrected, causing the car to overturn. The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the car. We'll update this story as more information becomes available.

A driver was heading north on Mack St. in Gaston around 2 A.M. when the vehicle passed through the stop arms on the train tracks and collided with an oncoming train. The driver was killed at the scene and was not wearing his seatbelt. The driver's name has not been released. Nobody on the train was injured as a result of the collision.

One person is dead and two others injured in a crash Friday in Kershaw County. Troopers responded to an accident involving a moped near Elgin on Smyrna Road around 10:15 p.m. The driver of a pickup truck crossed the center line of Smyrna Road and crashed into a moped head-on.The passenger of the moped died and the driver was sent to the hospital. The driver of the pickup truck was also sent to the hospital. Their conditions are not known.

Joshua Cory Monts of Little Mountain was driving north on Wessinger Road around 2 a.m. when his pickup ran off the left side of the road and he was ejected from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seatbelt. A passenger in the pickup, who was wearing a seatbelt, was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Two women were crossing at the intersection of Harden and Greene Streets, when a Buick Century turned and hit them in the crosswalk.The women were not seriously injured. The driver of the gold or tan Buick Century with license plate JCS925 is unknown.

  Gonzalez was taken to the hospital, where he died about four hours later. Lopez and the driver of the SUV were taken to the hospital, but their conditions are unknown. Lopez was charged with failure to yield to the right-of-way.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol reports that a man on a motorcycle was killed in a crash Sunday afternoon after his bike left the roadway. Authorities say the driver was not wearing a helmet.

Authorities say three people have died in a wreck caused by a 28-year-old woman who was drinking on her birthday and drove the wrong way on Interstate 77 in Fairfield County. Investigators said Takeya Taylor, of Columbia, was driving the wrong way around 2:30 a.m. Thursday in the southbound lanes of I-77 about five miles from Winnsboro when she hit another vehicle head on. The coroner's office said Taylor was killed, along with the driver of the other car, 48-year-old Lisa Jefferson, and one of her passengers, 46-year-old Wallace Green. A second passenger in the car remains in the hospital.
