A Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school bus with more than two dozen students on board was involved in a collision Wednesday morning. The two-vehicle collision happened around 6:50 a.m. at the intersection of West Clemmonsville Road and Ebert Road. No one was injured. Bus #472 was going south on West Clemmonsville Road when an SUV ran a red traffic light and hit the bus, Winston-Salem police said. The SUV driver was cited for a stop light violation. The bus was carrying 26 students at the time of the collision.

Several students were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries early Wednesday after a wreck involving a school bus near McGee's Crossroads Elementary School in Johnston County, State Highway Patrol officials said. Forty-eight students were on the bus at the time of the wreck, which happened at about 8:15 a.m. near the intersection of Greenleaf Road and N.C. Highway 50.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal car crash.

Troopers said the wreck happened just before 6:30 p.m Monday.

Investigators said the driver of a pickup truck was headed south on Hayne Street in Spartanburg County when the he lost control, ran off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

The Spartanburg County Corner said Cletus Roper, 52, died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt.

The driver of a 2006 Toyota pickup was killed this morning when the vehicle ran off Highway 276 and crashed into a column supporting the bridge where Interstate 185 runs over Highway 276, said Cpl. Bill Rhyne of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

No other cars were involved in the wreck that happened about a half mile outside the Mauldin city limits at 11:10 a.m., Rhyne said.

An accident involving a school bus in Union County sent more than 20 students to the hospital with minor injuries, according to troopers and emergency responders. The accident happened at 7:27 a.m. at Whitlock Lake Road and Morris Farm Road near Jonesville, troopers said. Troopers said the 1988 Freightliner school bus was traveling south on Whitlock Lake Road, when it ran off the right side of road and hit a tree. Union County Emergency Services director Ronnie Robertson confirmed six students were taken to Wallace Thompson Hospital in Union.

Troopers with the NC Highway Patrol say one person was killed in a vehicle crash in Union County Wednesday afternoon.

The incident was reported at 5:27 p.m. on Rocky River Road South, according to the NC Highway Patrol.

Harley Glenn Wallace, 34, of Lancaster, SC, was driving a 2002 Chrysler van southbound when he crossed the median and hit a 2005 Chevrolet pick-up truck headed northbound.

Wallace was killed on impact, Troopers say.

One person is dead after a late-night accident in Greenville County.

According to the Highway Patrol, the wreck happened just after 11 p.m. Monday on West Georgia Road, about 5 miles south of Simpsonville.

Greenville County Coroner Parks Evans identified the victim as 29-year-old Marcus A. Johnson of Simpsonville.

Troopers say Johnson was driving a 1989 Chevrolet pickup and was driving east on West Georgia Road, when he veered into the westbound lane and struck a Toyota four-door.

Authorities say three people died when a small plane crashed between two houses in a neighborhood in Hartsville.

The Darlington County coroner confirmed the three deaths. All three people were on the plane, and no one on the ground was injured or killed in the crash, which occurred about 7 p.m. Saturday.

The Spartanburg County coroner's office says a 75-year-old man died following a three-vehicle collision. The crash happened around noon Saturday on Camelot Drive. According to the coroner's office, Cecil Maria died after he crossed the centerline and hit two other vehicles. Witnesses told investigators that Maria appeared to be slumped over the car's steering wheel when the crash happened.

A motorcyclist died after a collision with a car on State 253 just outside the city of Greenville, according to the Highway Patrol. The driver of the 2012 BMW motorcycle has been identified as Matthew Burnett, 29, of 291 Sammons Road, Taylors, according to Greenville County Coroner Parks Evans. He wasn’t wearing a helmet, the coroner said. An exam will be performed Monday to determine the cause of death, he said. The coroner listed the address of the accident as 1704 Poinsett Hwy., Greenville.
