Police have reopened I-70 West on the west side after a crash involving two semis.

At about 2:40 p.m. Columbus police were called to report of a crash on Interstate 70 West near West Broad Street.

Dispatchers said two semis were involved in the crash.

Police reopened the freeway just before 3:30 p.m.

A wrong-way driver was injured when police say he crashed his vehicle into a wall in the westbound lanes of Interstate 670, near Interstate 71 early Thursday morning.

Columbus police officers were alerted to the wrong-way driver at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday. He was first seen driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-670 near Grandview Avenue, according to police.

By the time officers were able to locate the driver, he had traveled several miles.

The driver crashed the front end of his vehicle into a wall after losing control.

Two men are in jail after leading law officers on a chase on Rt. 23 in southern Delaware County this afternoon that eventually led to a crash and the road being closed in both directions for two hours. Detectives had been watching one of the men, Scott Delano Thomas, 26, after his friends and family said he robbed a bank in Lewis Center on Saturday, a spokeswoman for the Delaware County sheriff’s office. Police said Thomas, who was released from the Delaware County jail in December 2012 after serving time for theft, told his family and friends he had no plans to end up behind bars again.

State Route 158 is closed south of Interstate 70 in Fairfield County because of an overturned semi.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. on S.R. 158 between I-70 and Blacklick Road.

One person was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

A Powell man injured in a crash on Sunday died a day later.

Thomas J. Bentz, 61, was on the ramp from I-670 east to I-270 north when the SUV went off the right side of the road and rolled over about 8:30 p.m., according to the Franklin County sheriff’s office.

Bentz was ejected from the SUV. He died yesterday at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center.

Columbus police are investigating a crash that involved a salt truck where four people, three of them children, were injured Saturday evening. Officers responded to the crash on Skywae Drive and Schrock Road Saturday at about 5:30 p.m. A salt truck was reportedly involved in the crash. A four-year-old, a six-year-old and a seven-year-old child were all transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital and one person was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital. All are listed as stable.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers have reopened state Route 37 between Rainbow Drive and Coonpath Road in Lancaster following a multiple vehicle crash Friday morning.

Troopers responded to the scene of the crash at about 6:47 a.m. Friday. There were eight vehicles involved.

Six people were transported to area hospitals in unknown conditions.

The southbound lanes of Interstate 270 were closed Thursday evening at Morse Road for a crash.

According to police, the crash occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. on I-270 near Morse Road.

A black SUV overturned on the freeway.

One person was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.

The ramp from Morse Road to southbound I-270 was also closed. All ramps and lanes have since reopened.

State Route 104 remains closed near state Route 316 in Pickaway County following a crash and chemical spill that occurred Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Circleville post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash, which involved a tanker truck, occurred shortly after 2 p.m. on S.R. 104, just north of S.R. 316.

Troopers stated that a the truck traveled off the right side of the road, struck a guardrail and overturned.

The truck's fuel tank ruptured, spilling an estimated 2,000 gallons of ethanol into a nearby stream.

A 13-year-old Circleville boy died in a crash on icy roads in Pickaway County early yesterday. Zachary Manns was a passenger in his mother’s car when it slid on icy roads at 8:08 a.m. on a curve on Stoutsville Pike in Washington Township, east of Circleville. His mother, 36-year-old Kristy Stone, was driving eastbound when the car slid and she went left of center, said the commander of the Circleville Post of the State Highway Patrol. Stone’s Grand Prix was hit by a westbound Geo Tracker driven by F.D. Easterday, 75, of Stoutsville.
