A single vehicle crash on I-26 near mile marker 169 has left one dead and one in critical condition in Orangeburg County. Around 3pm, the driver of the vehicle veered off road and into an embankment and crashing into trees. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger was brought to MUSC by helicopter in critical condition.

The driver of a 1988 Chevy Pickup wassouthbound on Shillings Bridge Road when they made a turn on SC-70, at which point the driver of a 2013 Honda struck the truck. The pickup driver died at the scene, while the the 29-year-old driver was brought to the hospital with injuries that are thought to be non-life-threatening. Corey Trawick, 32, of Lexington, was killed in the collision which happened at about 8:40 p.m. when a vehicle driven by Trawick turned onto U.S. 1 from Bruton Smith Road and collided with a vehicle traveling south on U.S. 1. Trawick was pronounced deceased at the crash site, and a passenger in Trawick's vehicle was injured. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

At about 5:50 a.m., deputy Nicholas Lott was northbound on Columbia Highway, responding to reports of a prowler, when his car collided with another vehicle that was entering the highway from Old Jordan Road. Both Lott and the driver of the other vehicle were hospitalized as a result of the collision, though both are reported to be in stable condition. We will add more details about this accident as they become available.

A vehicle ran off the left side of SC 70, hitting a pole and embankment early Tuesday morning. The driver was taken to Regional Medical Center, where they later died.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a driver was killed when an SUV collided with a tree on US 76 Tuesday night. The driver was wearing a seat belt, but was pronounced dead at the scene near the Sumter County line. He was later identified as Terrance Walker, 23, of West Columbia. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.

Willie Wade Harsey was driving on Whiskey Road when he went to cross Neely Wingard Road, not stopping at a stop sign. His vehicle was struck by a Ford Escape that was traveling west on Neely Wingard, and he died at the scene. His passenger was injured. Two people in the Ford Escape were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. Troopers say that Harsey was not wearing a seat belt.

Dylan Scott Chavis was driving on Interstate 20 around 11:50 p.m. when for unknown reasons his car went off the road. The accident took place about two miles away from the Pond Branch exit. He died at the scene. A passenger in his vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A man has been charged with felony DUI involving death and multiple other crimes after he caused a fatal collision in Columbia Saturday night.Arthuro Rios Torres, 30, was driving on Percival Road when he collided with a vehicle, shoving it into oncoming traffic. The driver of third vehicle, 61-year-old Roxina Howell Mack, died at the crash site. Torres left the scene but was arrested at a nearby mobile home park.

It was about 11:30pm when Talashia Tucker, 25, was driving south on Broad River Road and crossed over the center line before colliding head-on with a northbound vehicle. While Tucker was pronounced dead at the scene, there is currently no information about the state of the other driver involved.
