A pedestrian was killed on Dixie Highway early Sunday after being hit by a taxi, said a Louisville Metro Police spokesman.
The accident happened at about 1 a.m. on Dixie Highway near Katherine Station Road, he said.
The pedestrian, who was only identified as a white male, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are not sure if the victim was on the roadway when he was hit, police said. The taxi was at the scene when officers arrived and no other injuries were reported in connection with the accident, he said.
John Vausha, 62, was driving on Ind. 64 about 6:45 p.m. when a witness saw his vehicle leave the road. The vehicle traveled 500 feet before landing in a pond. Officials are unsure what caused Vausha to drive off the road. Crawford County firefighters pulled Vausha from his car, but the man was unresponsive. Vausha was flown to Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, where he was pronounced dead.
One person is dead after a car hit a rock wall in Christian County Thursday evening.
Officials say the single-vehicle wreck happened on the Hopkinsville Bypass between Cadiz Road and Princeton Road at 5:47 p.m.
The person's name has not been released at this time.
Officials say speed is considered to be a factor in the crash.

Police said a SUV and van were involved in a fiery crash along I-71 and I-75 near the 12th Street exit ramp.
The SUV ended up on its side and the van flipped and caught fire.
There were no reports of serious injuries.

A car traveling west on I-64 near mile marker 106 struck a sport utility vehicle traveling east, and the driver of the car and a passenger in the SUV were killed. The 2-year-old girl was identified as Merissa Summers. The coroner said he wasn't releasing the name of the sailor, who is based in Virginia, because his family had not been notified.

A Cemex employee was directing traffic near the 15300 block of Dixie Highway when he tried to stop traffic in the northbound lane and was struck by a pickup truck just before 8 p.m., a Louisville Metro Police spokesman said.
The man was wearing reflective clothing and holding a stop sign, Mitchell said. He died at the scene.
Police have not ruled out drugs or alcohol as a factor in the accident, Mitchell said.
A 19-year-old was killed and another person was critically injured after a UPS delivery truck struck their car on South Third Street Monday night.
Kendall Daub, who was a passenger in a black Chevrolet Impala, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The vehicle traveling east on Kenton Street ran a stop sign and collided with the delivery truck as it headed south on Third Street just before 11 p.m.
