1 Dead in 4-Vehicle Crash on I-55 Near Pontiac
A four-vehicle crash on Interstate 55 near Pontiac left one person dead Thursday afternoon. A vehicle traveling south on I-55 crossed a center median and hit another vehicle head on around 4:30 p.m., authorities said. The vehicle that was hit head on then struck another vehicle, sending that car crashing into a fourth vehicle.

Illinois State Police say Borja was driving southbound just north of Pontiac when she crossed the median into the northbound lanes, hitting another car. She was wearing a seatbelt, but the impact was so strong she was immediately thrown out of the car.
