It was just after 12:00 a.m. when two cars hit each other head-on on Highway 50. The driver of one car, identified as Marvin Dale Walker, 61, was dead at the scene, and the driver of the other, Ba Dai Le, 50, was pronounced dead at the hospital about six hours later. A third car crashed at the scene, but it is not clear when that happened or how it was involved with the other crash. That driver was uninjured. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, but given that it was a head-on collision, wrong-way driving seems likely.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a crash involving three vehicles took place at 2:24 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 50 at Stockton Boulevard in Sacramento. Officials say the driver of a Toyota Prius was eastbound in the westbound lanes of the highway just prior to the accident. We'll update this story as details emerge.

Three people were hurt in a head-on crash on Highway 50 near the Pueblo airport around 8:30 Monday (6/2/14) night. Pueblo Police said Alyssa Shelton, 34, was driving west in the eastbound lanes of Highway 50, west of the Pueblo Municipal Airport interchange. Police said she was also driving without headlights. Shelton's car hit a truck head-on that was heading east, police said. Witnesses told police that Shelton hit two other vehicles before that accident as well. Shelton and the driver of the truck are in critical condition, police said. A passenger in the truck was treated and released.
