Three members of an Allen, Texas, family were killed when their van collided head-on with a car on a highway in a remote area of northern Arizona. The Arizona Department of Public Safety identified those killed as 60-year-old Rebecca Simpson Stryker, 56-year-old James Lee Stryker and 16-year-old Travis Stryker. A twin brother of the teenager, 16-year-old Austin Stryker, was seriously injured and hospitalized in Flagstaff. The DPS said a car that crossed the center line first collided with a second car before it collided with the Strykers’ van.

A 13-year-old girl was at the wheel of a car when the vehicle struck a tree in Olympia Fields Wednesday and killed a 12-year-old passenger inside, according to friends and family members of the victim. Twelve-year-old Almani Kreamer, a sixth-grader, died from his injuries. 4 teens where in the car at the time of the accident. The crash occurred shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of Brookwood Terrace. Authorities believe the driver may have been speeding at the time of the accident.

A Raceland man died Wednesday evening in Lafourche Parish when his vehicle struck a tree off Louisiana Highway 182 near Bayou Folse Road. Percy Hills, 44, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from his 2008 Chevrolet Malibu around 9 p.m. after failing to navigate a curve in the road. Louisiana State Police are investigating the accident and toxicology tests are pending. Paramedics transported Hills to St. Anne General Hospital, in Raceland, where he died of his injuries.

A Chicago police officer and two others were injured in an alcohol-related crash in the Englewood neighborhood early Wednesday. The crash, which involved a squad car, occurred about 12:45 a.m. in the 7400 block of South Halsted Street, police said. Two police officers from Gresham District were standing on the street conducting a traffic stop when a dark-colored SUV struck the passenger door of the officers’ squad car, police said. One officer and the two men who were initially stopped were struck by the car, police said.

Westbound lanes of Interstate 30 in Grand Prairie have reopened after a fiery semi crash closed several lanes overnight. The accident happened at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday in the westbound lanes of I-30 a half mile east of MacArthur Boulevard. When Grand Prairie firefighters arrived on the scene an 18-wheeler was on fire. The driver was outside the big rig. Paramedics say he was alert and talking, he was taken to Methodist Hospital in Dallas for treatment.

A New Braunfels woman died last week after she was hit by a car at FM 725 and Zipp Road in Guadalupe County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Denali Molina, 25, of New Braunfels was in the roadway at about 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 27 when she was hit by a 1992 Toyota Camry heading eastbound on Zipp Road, according to DPS. Molina was taken to the San Antonio Military Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead just after 1 a.m., according to DPS. The driver, Beverly Peña of New Braunfels, is not being charged, according to DPS.

Police have identified a man who died after crashing his plane near Longmont Wednesday. David Bessemeier of Loveland died when his plane went down near 109th Avenue. Witnesses reported hearing strange engine noises and seeing parts of the plane fall from the sky before impact. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating why the 66-year-old’s plane crashed.

A motorcyclist died Wednesday night after running off the road in northwest Las Vegas. A 28-year-old motorcyclist was traveling on Centennial Center Boulevard near Ann Road about 9:30 p.m. when he failed to stay in his lane, police said. The man drove off the side of the road on his motorcycle and struck a palm tree. He died at the scene. His identity will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Weather may have played a role, but alcohol was behind the arrest of a Buffalo motorist whose car went off Route 219 in the Town of Concord early Wednesday morning, Erie County sheriff’s deputies reported. Lorie L. Darnley, 40, was arrested after a deputy investigated a report of a car off the road at about 2:40 a.m., finding her car stuck in the snow in the median near Trevett Road.

The Northbound lanes of Powers Avenue were closed Tuesday night as police and rescue crews worked to clean up a single car accident on Powers Avenue at Morton Street.

The car crashed into a light pole in the area around 9:30 p.m.

Authorities said one person was taken to a local hospital after being trapped in the car for some time.

The crash happened right across the street from a fire station on Powers Avenue.

There was no word on the extent of injuries to the person inside that car.
