A 57-year-old man from Empire died early Tuesday morning when his truck rolled on the shoulder of Interstate 70 and burst into flames, according to the Colorado State Patrol. The accident occurred just before 1 a.m. at mile marker 86, which is about 30 miles west of Glenwood Springs and five miles west of Rifle. The truck appears to have swerved for an unknown reason, driven off the right side of the highway, rolled and burst into flames according to the CSP. Both the vehicle and driver, who was ejected from the truck during the accident, were burned in the fire.

A fiery car crash on Interstate 270 injured three people this morning. The crash happened at about 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, near Highway 40 (Interstate 64). Two lanes of northbound I-270, before Highway 40, were closed while police investigated the crash. Town and Country Police Lt. Steve Nelke said it was a one-vehicle crash and the vehicle did catch fire. He did not provide any details about rescue efforts. Three occupants, including the driver, were taken to a hospital, Nelke said. He did not have information on the severity of the injuries.

A man suffered head injuries when he was struck by a car Tuesday night in Mt. Lebanon. Police say Michael Joseph Puccio, 30, remains in critical condition after he was hit by an SUV while attempting to cross Washington Road in an area where there are no crosswalks. "He was crossing Washington Road, wearing dark clothing, according to witness statements. The driver traveling north didn't see him and struck him," said Police Chief Coleman McDonough. The name of the 17-year-old driver is not being released. Police say right now they have no plans to file charges.

A manhunt was underway Wednesday morning after a short pursuit ended in a crash in Lowell. A police dog was being used to track the suspect. The drama began around 8:30 a.m. when a trooper spotted a convertible BMW without a rear license plate being driven erratically on I-5 just south of 41st Street. The car left the freeway and was exceeding the 25 mph speed limit when it crashed into a Ford Escape at the intersection of S. Third Street and Lowell Road. The driver got out of the car and ran off, leaving behind his passenger, a Snohomish woman, 25.

Spokane County sheriff’s deputies took a suicidal man wanted for arson into custody Wednesday when his car caught fire following a high speed chase. A caller reported Brian Olson, 29, was threatening to kill himself near the area of 20000 N. Holcomb Road. Olson had a warrant for his arrest in connection to an arson investigation at 403 W. Barnes Road. The caller told dispatch that Olson had left the residence. Deputies found him traveling near the area of Bruce Street and Peone Road and tried to stop his vehicle. Olson refused to stop and fled the scene.

Police were investigating a fatal accident Wednesday morning involving a pedestrian and a train. The incident occurred near the railroad crossing at 172nd Street, Marysville police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux said. The victim is male. Age and identification were not immediately available. Commuters who use 172nd Street were urged to use alternate routes. The street was blocked by the train until 8:30 a.m. UPDATE: The victim has been identified as David R. Herold.

A 54-year-old motorcyclist lost control of his Harley Davidson and went off the road in the eastbound lanes of state Route 512 at 94th Street near the South Hill Mall, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The far right lane was blocked while paramedics tend to the man, who is from Tacoma. He suffered injuries to his face and leg.

The accident was reported about 1 p.m. It's unknown what caused the motorcyclist to lose control but the State Patrol reported he wasn't wearing his helmet properly. It was found about 30 feet from where the motorcyclist landed.

Massachusetts State police say a 71-year-old Wakefield man who had pulled over in the breakdown lane of Interstate 95 in Reading has been killed by an allegedly drunken driver.

Police say Vittorio Recupero pulled over at about 8:20 p.m. Tuesday.

He was allegedly struck by a car driven by 32-year-old Mary Grigoriadis of Brockton.

Police say it’s unclear if the victim was inside or outside of his vehicle.

Recupero was taken to the Lahey Clinic in Burlington where he succumbed to his injuries.

A brother driving himself and three siblings in his Milaca family to school north of the Twin Cities pulled his minivan into the path of a semitrailer truck less than a mile from their destination, leaving his 13-year-old sister dead in a broadside collision, authorities said. The crash occurred about 7:55 a.m. Tuesday at the T-intersection of Hwy. 23 and 127th Avenue, just west of Milaca, according to the State Patrol. Killed was Katrina E. Maetzold, 13, the patrol said. No one in the van was wearing seat belts, the patrol added.

A 15-year-old driver speeding faster than 100 mph before crashing into a Spokane Valley power pole Friday night was taking a couple of intoxicated friends to get tacos, according to police reports. Investigators want blood samples from the unlicensed driver. A 14-year-old passenger in the back seat who suffered a broken foot in the crash along the 3700 block of North Harvard Road in the Otis Orchards area said he saw the speedometer top 120 mph. A 17-year-old boy in the front seat remained in critical condition at a hospital Monday.
