A man thought to be in his early 30's was apparently wearing headphones while he was walking along the train tracks near Roeder Avenue in Bellingham at about 4:00 p.m., as he made no reaction to an approaching train that blew its whistle several times. He was struck by the train and propelled off of the tracks, where police found him with alive with severe head injuries. However, shortly after he was tranpsorted to the hospital, the man was declared dead.

A large pickup sped out of control in downtown Bellingham early Monday, killing one male pedestrian and injuring three others. The truck, driven by 27-year-old Dustin F. Brown, swerved onto a sidewalk before 2 a.m. and hit three pedestrians. The three were believed to be in stable condition at a local hospital. The truck then drove through a parking lot, killing 37-year-old Dragan Skrobonja. The truck hit an SUV with 3 passengers who were uninjured, and then hit two parked cars and a fence.
