A large pickup sped out of control in downtown Bellingham early Monday, killing one male pedestrian and injuring three others. The truck, driven by 27-year-old Dustin F. Brown, swerved onto a sidewalk before 2 a.m. and hit three pedestrians. The three were believed to be in stable condition at a local hospital. The truck then drove through a parking lot, killing 37-year-old Dragan Skrobonja. The truck hit an SUV with 3 passengers who were uninjured, and then hit two parked cars and a fence. A crowd surrounded the truck and pulled the driver out, detaining him as officers arrived, police said. Brown, of Bellingham, was arrested for investigation of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault. Police said they believe he was under the influence of alcohol.
