At about 10:45 p.m., Corcoran was heading south on Route 53 when he collided with an eastbound semi-truck on Manhattan Road. His car ended up pinned beneath the semi's trailer, and responders declared him dead at the scene. No one else was injured in the crash. Illinois State Police is reporting four people were killed in an accident on Interstate 55 involving at least one semi-trailer truck and three autos south of Chicago in Will County.

The fatal accident Monday afternoon occurred on I-55 near Arsenal Road in Elwood.

Emergency crews have responded, prompting the rerouting of traffic off the northbound lanes at River Road. An Illinois Department of Transportation spokeswoman says the interstate is expected to be closed at that point for hours.

Donald W. Lundberg, 51, killed in collision with Siefeddin Khattab, 32, at intersection of Baseline and Arsenal on May 30 in Elwood.

A Michigan man died in a Friday afternoon collision with a semitrailer cab that ran a stoplight, police said. The collision, which involved three vehicles, was at the intersection of Baseline and Arsenal roads, Elwood Police Chief Fred Hayes said. Donald W. Lundberg, 51, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which happened at 12:03 p.m. “Speed definitely appears to be a factor,” Hayes said.

An 8-year-old girl died Tuesday evening when a minivan collided with a semi-truck on Route 53.

Madison Frost was riding in the third row passenger seat of a white 2010 Dodge Caravan being driver by her mother, Tina Frost, 36, of Crest Hill, Police Chief Fred Hayes said. Maria Frost, 15, a 20-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman also were riding in the Caravan.
