A La Mesa man killed Sunday evening when the off-road vehicle he was driving rolled over and crashed has been identified as Erik Scott Decker, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office. Decker, 33, was traveling alone in a residential area of unincorporated El Cajon when he drove a Polaris RZR all-terrain vehicle from a dirt road to the asphalt on Snow View Drive near Highway 80, the California Highway Patrol said Sunday. The Polaris overturned, partially throwing Decker from the driver’s seat and pinning him underneath the vehicle.

One person is dead and another was badly hurt in an ATV accident in Seminole County. The accident happened Friday night in the area of East First Street in Chuluota, not far from County Road 419. Witnesses said the four-wheeler with two men in it, later identified as 22-year-old Daniel Huffman and 23-year-old Wayne Badertcher, was speeding down the road when it hit a sign, flipped and threw both passengers into the trees.

A 57-year-old man has been found dead after an accident involving an all-terrain vehicle in eastern Iowa's Muscatine County. Authorities say sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a rural Letts property just before 9 p.m. Saturday. They found the body of 57-year-old Randy Tomfeld at the scene of the crash. The accident is being investigated.

Police said two 12-year-old girls were injured in an off-road vehicle crash in Wells County Friday night. One of the girls was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital in serious condition after she was pinned underneath the ORV. According to Indiana Department of Natural Resources officers, Trinity Wine, 12, of Keystone, was driving a Polaris Ranger with passenger Tess Gilbert, 12, of Warren, on private property in the area of 1500 E. 900 S. in Keystone shortly before 7 p.m. Friday.

An Inverness teen who was driving an ATV without headlights or a helmet died in a crash in Citrus County on Monday evening. Florida Highway Patrol investigators say at about 8:39 p.m., 17-year-old Alexander Terraciano was driving the ATV on County Road 581. A 2003 Honda Civic driven by Barbara Jean Cross, 38, of Hernando, was driving behind Terraciano and hit the back of the ATV. Terraciano died at the scene of the crash. No charges were filed in connection with the crash.

A 7-year-old boy was flown to a trauma center Monday afternoon after being injured in an all-terrain vehicle rollover in Loxahatchee, said a spokesman for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. The child was flown by Trauma Hawk to St. Mary’s Medical Center, Borroto said. The accident happened a few minutes before 6 p.m. on the 17,700 block of 61st Place North.

A 21-year-old West Virginia man was killed in an all-terrain vehicle crash in Greene County on Friday night, police said. The man was traveling north on Blockhouse Run Road in Gilmore Township when he struck a dog and lost control, flipping the ATV, police said. The man was thrown onto the road. The identity of the man has not been released.

All Amtrak and MARC rail service between Baltimore and Wilmington was suspended for several hours Tuesday evening after a man was killed on train tracks in Rosedale, rail and police officials said. Baltimore County Police believe the man failed to hear the train coming toward him at a high rate of speed after a stolen ATV in his possession "broke down on him next to the tracks just prior to the accident."

Authorities are investigating a crash that sparked a chaotic scene in northeast Houston. The wreck happened in the 1100 block of Homestead, where thousands of people have lined the street. They're out to welcome the Piney Woods Trail Riders, who set up camp there. A Houston police officer said the driver involved in the accident was hit by what may have been kids on an ATV. The driver is OK. The people on the ATV fled and police want to find them and talk to them. Officers said they may have been injured in that accident.

A man died in an ATV accident overnight in Catawba County, according to officials. The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office received a call for service about 5:30 a.m. Monday at Slanting Bridge Road and Tradewinds Drive. When they arrived, they found 30-year-old Joseph Hall's body was cold, suggesting he had been dead for hours, said a 911 dispatcher. The sheriff's office said Hall was driving north on Slanting Bridge Road when he hit a culvert drain pipe and crashed his ATV. Fire and EMS reported to the scene.
