Authorities are trying to figure out why a car crashed into a plasma center in southwest Houston. It happened around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Grifols donor center located in the 8400 block of W. Bellfort near S. Gessner. Authorities said a woman in her 20s drove the vehicle into the building. Houston police and firefighters with the Houston Fire Department responded to the scene.

Police said a woman is dead and a man is facing charges after a drunk driving crash in southwest Houston.

It happened at around 8 p.m. Sunday in the 9800 block of South Kirkwood.

According to police, Fernando Razo was in a white pickup truck on northbound on Kirkwood. Officials said a 19-year-old woman was driving a black Honda Accord westbound on Spring Grove.

As the Honda was leaving a stop sign to turn left at the intersection of Kirkwood, Razo's truck struck the Honda on the driver's side, killing the victim, police said.

A suspected drunken driver was arrested after a 45-year-old man died in a traffic crash early Thursday morning in northeast Houston. The two-vehicle wreck happened about 2 a.m. in the 600 block of Maxey at Wood Bayou, according to the Houston Police Department. Police said the killed driver was in a green Nissan Altima southbound on Maxey when he collided with a northbound, white Ford F-150 pickup. The pickup driver, police added, was turning left onto Wood Bayou but failed to yield the right-of-way to the Nissan.

A Good Samaritan helped save a group of people before their truck caught on fire following an accident in Northeast Houston.

According to the Houston Police Department, the driver lost control of the truck Sunday night while speeding down an Eastex Freeway exit ramp and crashed into a freeway column.

Police said he got them out safely before the truck caught fire, but the 17-year-old driver died at the scene.

Another man was riding in the truck bed. He was tossed from the truck, but was not seriously injured.

A death investigation is underway after an accident on the Gulf Freeway.

Houston police said Channea Ou, 58, and his wife were driving south on the connecting ramp from the South Sam Houston Parkway to the southbound Gulf Freeway when he hit the guard rail just before 10 a.m. Sunday.

After the accident, police said Ou walked back along the path that his vehicle had taken and then returned to the vehicle where his wife was still sitting in the front passenger seat. He spoke to his wife, and then ran up the connected ramp about 400 feet and climbed onto the guard rail.

A suspected drunken driver was taken into custody after an accident in northeast Harris County. It happened around 11:30 p.m. Monday on E. FM 1960 near Timber Forest. Officials said a white pickup truck was going east on FM 1960 when he veered across the center line and hit another pickup traveling in the opposite direction. The second pickup rolled into a ditch. Officials said that driver broke his arm in the crash. Authorities said the driver of the truck that caused the crash failed DWI tests and was taken into custody.

Charges have been filed against a suspected drunken driver who police said caused a fatal crash in southwest Harris County.

It happened around 3:40 p.m. Saturday in the 10700 block of Rockley.

Houston police said Osvaldo Chojolan Xicara , 34, was driving his pickup truck when he failed to stop at the stop sign and hit a Nissan Maxima driven by a 37-year-old man.

Officials said the Maxima overturned. The driver died at the scene.

Police took Xicara into custody at the scene. He has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.

A woman was killed in a rollover crash in northwest Harris County early Thursday morning.

Deputies said the woman who died was speeding northbound on Cypress Rosehill near Manor Bend just after 1 a.m.

Officials said she lost control of her pickup; it left the road and flipped several times.

The woman was ejected from the truck and died on the scene.

Accident investigators said there were beer bottles all over the crash site. Some of them were open, according to deputies, and the smell of alcohol permeated the pickup cab.

A five-vehicle wreck shut down the inbound lanes of Westheimer at Blue Willow Road Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency crews and tow trucks responded to the scene around 12:30 p.m.

There were significant traffic delays in the area, and at one point, drivers were slowly getting by through the parking lot of a mattress shore off Westheimer.

A deputy is in critical condition after a traffic crash Tuesday morning on the North Sam Houston Parkway in northeast Harris County.

The crash forced officials to shut down the westbound toll road.

The three-vehicle wreck occurred about 7:50 a.m. on Beltway 8 near Wilson Road, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. The deputy had a K-9 in his squad car.
