Two people were injured after a METRO bus was involved in an accident in southwest Houston.

It happened in the 9900 block of South Main Street near the 610 South Loop around 11 a.m. Thursday.

METRO officials said a vehicle was exiting a private drive when it hit another vehicle. The second vehicle then hit the METRO bus.

Officials said a passenger from one of the vehicles and a bus passenger were taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A high-speed crash killed one teenager and injured another two in northwest Houston Wednesday night.

According to Houston police, witnesses spotted the teenagers’ truck speeding down Antoine Drive around 8 p.m. The driver lost control near Long Point Road and the truck hit a fence and then flipped over.

Police said a 16-year-old, who was buckled up, died in the crash.

Officials said an 18-year-old and a 13-year-old were thrown from the truck. Neither wore seat belts, but both survived. They were taken to an area hospital in stable condition.

An off-duty Harris County sheriff's deputy stumbled upon a deadly scene early Wednesday morning.

Officials said the deputy was driving down Huffsmith Kohrville Road around 12:40 a.m. Wednesday, when he saw a pickup truck that had hit a tree.

Deputies investigating the crash scene said the driver was speeding when he lost control on a sharp curve near Willow Creek and hit the tree.

The driver died on impact. There were no witnesses.

The victim's name was not immediately released.

Four people who ran from police are all in the hospital this morning after crashing into a tree at the end of a chase in northwest Houston.

According to police, a crime reduction unit was patrolling an apartment complex on Pitner near Hempstead for gang activity when they spotted three adults males and a female in a car. They tried to pull them over but the driver took off.

The short pursuit came to an end at the intersection of Hollister and Moore when the suspect crashed into a tree.

Three people are in the hospital after a pile up involving as many as 11 vehicles.

The accident happened at Westview and Wirt in the Spring Branch area. The Houston Fire Department says a trailer pulled through the intersection without stopping and crashed into all the cars.

One person was trapped inside their car because of the crash and crews had to put out a vehicle fire.

A man died when he got off a Metro bus Tuesday morning and a car hit him as he crossed a street in northwest Houston.

The incident happened about 6:30 a.m. at 10500 Hempstead near Dacoma, according to the Houston Police Department.

Police said a second vehicle ran over the man. The driver who initially hit the man stopped. The other driver did not. The pedestrian died.

Investigators are gathering more information to determine exactly what happened.

Rescue crews had to pry a driver out of his SUV after a major rollover crash in northwest Harris County. The accident happened around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday when the SUV turned left onto Spring Creek Forest from the eastbound lanes of Louetta. Officials said it appeared the vehicle turned right in front of another car traveling west, and the car crashed into the side of the SUV, causing it to flip over. The driver of the SUV was pinned inside the vehicle and had to be pried out by emergency crews. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

A driver hit and killed an elderly man crossing the street early Monday morning, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. HSCO said the man was wandering across Bammel N Houston near the North Beltway in North Harris County. The person driving a Ford Explorer did not see the man in time and hit him. The elderly man died at the scene. The driver stopped and waited for authorities. HCSO is investigating.

A 37-year-old woman died Monday morning in a traffic crash on the Sam Houston Parkway in southeast Houston. The wreck happened about 5:50 a.m. in the 6000 block of the service road of eastbound South Sam Houston Parkway near Mykawa, according to the Houston Police Department. Police said the woman was sitting a stalled blue Toyota Camry in the eastbound lane of the roadway when a black GMC Sierra pickup, which was traveling at a high rate of speed, hit the car. The woman, who was wearing her seat belt, died at the scene. The pickup driver stopped.

Anita Benton, a cheery bookkeeper at a family-owned scrap metal yard in Houston, had spent Saturday evening Christmas shopping with friends and her teenage daughter, Winter. The pair was headed home to Baytown when an alleged drunken driver T-boned Benton's SUV in an attempt to flee Pasadena Walmart security.
