A pedestrian died early Tuesday morning in a hit-and-run traffic wreck in west Houston.
The incident happened about 2 a.m. at 8500 Richmond near Dunvale, according to the Houston Police Department.
Police said the victim was crossing Richmond when a dark-colored or black sports utility vehicle traveling eastbound hit him. The man died at the scene.
Police said the driver of the SUV sped away.
No description of the driver or further details about the SUV were available.

Officials said a 48-year-old man was driving the white Freightliner tractor trailer when he locked the vehicle's brakes, causing him to hit another vehicle.
The tractor trailer rolled and the driver died at the scene.
