Friday, June 5, 2015A car and a motorcycle collided on West Atlantic Boulevard at about 2:15 p.m., killing the motorcyclist, who has been identified as Michael Peter Mascaro, 34, and hospitalizing the driver of the car. The car driver was taken to Broward Health North in Deerfield Beach for treatment. The accident is still under investigation, as witness reports have been conflicting.

Saturday, May 23, 2015A fatal hit-and-run collision in Pompano Beach resulted in the death of Fredricka Howard. The collision happened about 2:45 a.m. Saturday when the driver of a white Ford F-150 hit her car and fled the scene on West Atlantic Boulevard near Northwest 16th Avenue. Howard was heading south on Northwest 16th Avenue on Saturday when she tried to cross West Atlantic Boulevard. Investigators are continuing their investigation.
