An 11-year-old boy who was struck by two cars when he walked across the street with a friend on Monday has died from his injuries.

Moses Galang was hit by a silver Honda and a van near Bruceville Road and Cosumnes River Boulevard on Monday. The Honda stayed at the scene.

The van is described as a white or light colored late 1970s to early 1980s Ford or Chevy full-size van with a raised roof cap. The cap is described as a camper or ice cream-type van top where the occupant can stand up inside. There is no description of the occupants, including the driver.

A 21-year-old motorcyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday evening, authorities said. The incident occurred at 6:30 p.m. when an 88-year-old man driving a car pulled out of Loehmann’s Plaza onto Fair Oaks Boulevard. The driver was trying to cross two lanes to get into a turn lane when he struck the motorcyclist, according to a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has released the name of a bicyclist killed Sunday evening by a hit-and-run driver. He was identified as Joseph Williams, 27, of Sacramento. Williams was killed in a crash east of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

One man is dead after he was struck by a car on Interstate 80 near Madison Avenue.

According to a CHP spokesperson, four vehicles and big rig were involved in the crash on Wednesday morning. Two of the cars colliding, sending one car into the center divide.

The driver of the car that hit the center divide — a man in his 30s — got out of the vehicle and tried to run to across the freeway, but was hit and killed. The driver of the car was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

A passenger was seriously injured when a car rear-ended a FedEx truck, according to the California Highway Patrol. As the truck was approaching a red light in the right turn lane on Watt Avenue near Chenu Avenue, a 2011 Dodge Avenger was traveling at a high rate of speed straddling the No. 3 lane and the turn lane. The CHP says the driver of the Avenger, David Longenecker, 25 of Sacramento, didn’t see the FedEx truck slowing and slammed into the rear of it, forcing the Avenger underneath the truck.

A man died this morning after being struck by a Union Pacific freight train in the Foothill Farms area, according to authorities.

The man had been laying across the tracks, Union Pacific spokesman said in a voicemail message.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department and Union Pacific officials responded to the scene of the collision, which occurred about 9 a.m. near Roseville Road and Palm Avenue. The man’s identity was not available.

The train was heading from Chicago to Lathrop. It has been moved from the area, but the investigation continues, he said.

Northbound Interstate 5 at Laguna Boulevard in Elk Grove was closed Wednesday morning due to a crash involving a pickup and two large trucks. The crashes occurred around 4 a.m. Spilled petroleum products must be cleaned up before all lanes can be re-opened on that stretch of I-5. Minor injuries were reported. In addition, at 7:30 a.m., traffic was snarled at the ramp from northbound Highway 99 to westbound Highway 50 due to a jackknifed big rig. The transition ramp re-opened at about 8.   What’s different about a truck accident?
