Drunk driving is believed to be the cause of a deadly wrong-way crash involving three vehicles in the Winchester area of Riverside County Saturday night. The fatal incident occurred at the intersection of Leon Road and Domenigoni Parkway around 10:10 p.m. Gerardo Cornejo, 20, of Nuevo was driving a 1994 Honda Civic westbound in the eastbound lane when he slammed head-on into a 2007 Suzuki RX4. That's when the 20-year-old spun around, and was hit by a Dodge Ram pickup truck.

A man was killed and several other people injured after a driver heading the wrong way down Highway 431 in Longview, Wash. caused a four-vehicle wreck Friday night, police said. Around 6:40 p.m., someone called 911 reporting a vehicle driving the wrong direction on Tennant Way. Less than a minute later, police learned four vehicles had wrecked in the 500 block of Tennant Way and one person was dead. Brett Dawdy, 47, of Longview was killed in the crash. Dawdy’s wife and teenage daughter were seriously injured and taken to the hospital.

A Kansas City man is dead after a wrong-way crash Friday night on Interstate 70 and Highway 40. Police said before 11:30 p.m. a Silver Chevy Malibu entered the highway from an exit ramp and was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-70. A semi-trailer truck was traveling east on I-70 and was unable to avoid the car resulting in a collision. Police said the driver of the car who was impaired by alcohol is in critical condition at an area hospital. According to police, the passenger, 35-year old Karl Silvey, died at the scene. The driver of the semi did not suffer any injuries.

Police say the Swartz Creek teen, 18, was driving south on the northbound lanes about 10:15 p.m. Feb. 9 when he crashed into an oncoming car, killing Bailey-Collins and injuring her 11-year-old son and her new husband. Bryan Collins, 28, was listed in fair condition while her 11-year-old son was in critical condition, police said. The Swartz Creek teen, who police believe got on the freeway at Hill Road, was treated for minor injuries, according to police. A Mundy Township Detective said the teen is in police custody.

Six people were killed, including a family of four, when a wrong-way driver crashed in Los Angeles County early Sunday. Authorities responded to the crash around 4:40 a.m. on the 60 Freeway in Diamond Bar, according to the California Highway Patrol. A woman driving a red Camaro, later Identified as Olivia Carolee Culbreath 21, crashed into two other vehicles, officials said. A family of four was killed in the wreck. Two other people died while being taken to a hospital in Irvine. Authorities said the woman is in critical condition, and that she may have been intoxicated when she crashed.

A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 275 in Hillsborough County claimed five lives early Sunday morning. The incident occurred just after 2 a.m. and closed the northbound lanes of the roadway for over five hours. According to a Florida Highway Patrol report a 2001 Ford Expedition triggered the tragedy by driving south in the northbound lanes. The Expedition struck a 2010 Hyundai head-on just north of the Busch Blvd. exit in the center travel lane. The SUV caught fire and was quickly engulfed in flames. The driver, later identified as Daniel Lee Morris 28, was pronounced dead at the scene.

One person was killed and two injured after a head-on crash caused by a wrong-way driver on northbound Route 7 in Brookfield late Thursday, state police said. The wrong-way driver, later identified as Alejandro Miranda 44, was killed and two passengers in a Jeep were injured and taken to Danbury Hospital for treatment. Both vehicles were destroyed. The crash was reported at 11:46 p.m. Thursday. Those injured were identfied as Michael Finn, 39, of Brookfield, and Meghan Harrison, 29, of New Milford.

Houston police arrested a woman Thursday morning after officers said she drove the wrong way on the road and crashed into a patrol car. Officers said that woman was driving on Almeda around 12:45 a.m. Thursday when she turned down the wrong side of the road and started driving against traffic. An officer traveling in those lanes saw the driver and tried to avoid her. The woman ended up clipping the back of the police car. She then lost control and drove into a large ditch on the side of the road. No one was injured in the accident.

Two Irving Police officers escaped injury Tuesday night after a woman driving the wrong way at high speeds hit them along State Highway 161. Irving officers were notified around 11:20 p.m. that a woman was driving the wrong-way – travelling south in the northbound lanes of the turnpike near State Highway 114. While one group of officers pursued her at speeds of up to 80 miles per hour in the southbound lanes, another officer approached the suspect in the northbound lanes and was struck by the woman’s SUV near Conflans Road in Irving.

A Rhode Island woman allegedly drove some 5 miles in the wrong direction on the Southeast Expressway early today and slammed into two vehicles including a snowplow, officials said. She is scheduled to appear in court here today on charges of operating under the influence and leaving the scene of the two crashes, according to State Police. Brenda Jarillo, 33, was arrested by State Police in Dorchester near Exit 12 around 3:30 a.m. today after she had driven in the wrong compass direction since being involved in a crash near Exit 8 in Quincy, officials said.
