A woman driving a red Camaro, later Identified as Olivia Carolee Culbreath 21, crashed into two other vehicles, officials said. A family of four was killed in the wreck.
Two other people died while being taken to a hospital in Irvine.
Authorities said the woman is in critical condition, and that she may have been intoxicated when she crashed.
A Sigalert was issued for traffic in the area. The westbound 60 was still closed.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, officials said.
UPDATE: The six people killed in this accident have been identified. Kristin Melissa Young 21, Maya Louise Culbreath 24, were believed to be passengers in the car of the person accused of causing the crash. Gregorio Mejia-Martinez 47, Leticia Ibarra 42, Jessica Jasmine Mejia 20, Esther Delgado age unknown, were all the the other vehicle. 02/10/14.
