A 71-year-old pilot was critically hurt when a crop-dusting helicopter crashed onto the roof of a barn in central Minnesota. Morrison County sheriff's authorities got a report of the crash north of Little Falls just after 10 a.m. Wednesday. When deputies, firefighters and emergency crews arrived they could see the pilot in the helicopter but couldn't get to him immediately. That's because the helicopter had crashed through the barn roof but not through the ceiling. Firefighters eventually were able to remove the pilot using a ladder truck.

Three people died in a one-car wreck early Friday in downtown Rocky Mount, police said. The incident happened shortly before 2 a.m. when a 2001 Lincoln LS crashed into a building at the intersection of South Grace and Chester streets. “The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. The Rocky Mount Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire,” Cpl. Mike Lewis said in a press release. “Investigators at the scene recovered the remains of three persons who were inside the vehicle.” The cause of the wreck is under investigation by the Rocky Mount police traffic safety unit.

Police say a Sammamish woman accidentally drove her SUV through her house, killing her husband and critically injuring her daughter and son-in-law. Neighbors say the woman went outside her home in the 3400 block of Lake Sammamish Lane SE on Friday evening to re-park her new white Jeep.  When the SUV crashed through the house, investigators say it hit the driver's husband, daughter and son-in-law. The daughter and son-in-law are the parents of the 3- year-old who was inside the Jeep. They were listed in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle Friday night.

A teenager was in critical condition Wednesday after his vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a home in Salt Lake City Tuesday. Salt Lake City police report that they were called to a home at 532 N. Redwood Road at about 7 p.m. on Tuesday after the boy’s car somehow went off the road and crashed through the house into the living room. No one inside the home was injured, but the driver was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

A man who crashed his car into a house Thursday evening is accused of driving the wrong way down another street minutes earlier — all while being “extremely impaired.” Burlington police were searching for the 1994 Honda Accord driven by Mario O’Keith Strayhorn, 22, of Roslyn Drive, after it struck another car while going the wrong way down Fisher Street.

A 25-year-old woman has been charged by Hampton police after they said she drove into a barber shop Tuesday morning. Gracielle Garnett, of the 400 block of Riverdale Drive in Hampton, has been charged with reckless driving in connection to the incident, Hampton Police Division spokesman Sgt. Jason Price said in an email. Police said Garnett was in the parking lot of Kingdom Kids Child Care in the 700 block of West Mercury Boulevard when she accelerated in her Chevrolet Blazer, lost control and hit First Class Barber Salon at 1 Riverdale Drive.

A man believed to have driven a car into the side of a Peerless Tire store has turned himself in to Broomfield Police. Early Saturday morning, a witness saw a white Toyota Camry had been driven into the side of the building at 11985 Teller St., causing several thousand dollars in damage that included a gaping hole on the west side of the building. A man was seen getting out of the car and walking away. Officers searched the area, but the driver was not found.

Houston police are looking for the suspect who shot a driver causing him to crash in southwest Houston Wednesday night. Investigators said the victim and a woman were sitting in a car at an apartment complex off of Woodfair Drive around 10:30 p.m. when a man walked up to the car and fired a shot at the driver. Officials said the driver managed to hit the gas and drove a few miles away to a Valero station at the intersection of Woodfair Drive and Bissonnet Street.
