A man was killed in Franklin County when his car went airborne in a crash on Route 30, according to state police. Pedro Ramirez Serrano, 30, of Fayetteville, was closely following another car "at a high rate of speed" around 5:35 p.m. Monday in the left westbound lane through Greene Township, according to state police news release. Ramierez Serrano tried to pass the car, but clipped the passenger-side rear bumper, according to state police. Ramirez Serrano's Nissan Rouge "went into the air and did a 180 degree turn," according to the news release.

Three people were injured, one seriously, when one vehicle crashed and flipped over then was struck by a passing vehicle, according to Westmoreland County emergency dispatchers. The dispatcher said the accident happened at 2:10 a.m. today on Route 30 at the Mt. Pleasant Street exit in Hempfield Township. One vehicle flipped over on the highway then was struck by a second vehicle that apparently was unable to avoid the crash, the dispatcher said.

A Westminster man died Thursday when the car he was driving collided head on with a tractor trailer on Route 30 in Manchester, according to Maryland State Police.

Sam Amling, 52, sustained life threatening injuries and was pronounced dead on scene, police said.

According to police, Amling's silver Hyundai was traveling southbound on Route 30 in the area of Mt. Ventus Road when it crossed the double yellow center lines, striking the 2009 Mack tractor trailer traveling northbound head on.
