Westminster man dies in Route 30 crash.
A Westminster man died Thursday when the car he was driving collided head on with a tractor trailer on Route 30 in Manchester, according to Maryland State Police.
Sam Amling, 52, sustained life threatening injuries and was pronounced dead on scene, police said.
According to police, Amling's silver Hyundai was traveling southbound on Route 30 in the area of Mt. Ventus Road when it crossed the double yellow center lines, striking the 2009 Mack tractor trailer traveling northbound head on.
Police said the tractor trailer subsequently entered the southbound lane where it struck a white box truck.
After the collision, the white box truck left the roadway, striking a utility pole, according to police.
The accident was reported around 2 p.m. and no other individuals involved in the collision sustained injury, according to police.
