Two people on a motorcycle were killed Saturday night in an accident in Lewisville.
Police said the wreck involved the motorcycle and another vehicle in the southbound lanes of Interstate 35E just north of Vista Ridge Mall.
The circumstances of the fatal crash were not available late Saturday. The identity of the victims was not released.
A bicyclist in Denton has been hospitalized Thursday after being struck by the A-Train.
According to the Denton County Transportation Authority, the bicyclist was hit at about 9:15 a.m. near the Lakeview Boulevard crossing.
The crossing is adjacent to a crossing for the Denton Katy Trail.
Officials with the DCTA said the train had just finished its morning schedule and that no passengers were onboard at the time of the collision.
A wife and mother died after a plane crash in Denton County.
Jennifer Lunow, 35, was a passenger in her husband Danny Lunow’s single engine Beechcraft 24, along with their 5 year old daughter, when the plane crashed less than a mile away from Denton Muncipal Airport Saturday night.
The family was heading to back to Hicks Airfield when Danny Lunow called Denton Municipal Airport to report engine problems, saying he had lost oil pressure and lost control of his propeller, said Lynn Lunsford, spokesperson for the FAA.
The plane crashed in a field near the airport.
A driver has been transported to the hospital after crashing off a bridge to the underpass below.
The crash closed southbound I-35 between Frankford Road and the Sam Rayburn Tollway in Lewisville around 11:30 a.m.
Careflight confirmed that the driver was trapped in the car and was taken to Medical Center of Plano.
The condition of the driver or the severity of injuries is not known.
A flight instructor and a student pilot have escaped injury in the belly landing of their small plane at a North Texas airport.
The incident happened Wednesday night at Denton Enterprise Airport. Airport officials say one of the men on board had radioed to say part of the landing gear on the Cessna 182 would not lock. Emergency responders were on hand during the landing.
The airport operations manager said Thursday that the plane was safely removed and the airport’s lone runway reopened about an hour after the incident.
