Sunday, October 12, 2014Ten people were injured after a ferry accident in San Francisco on October 12th.The ferry boat Peralta was headed to Oakland when it struck a piling at Pier 41 at around 5:45 p.m. All of the injured passengers were taken to the hospital for observation. Most injuries were described as minor to moderate.

Wednesday, October 8, 2014One person has died after a makeshift boat crashed into a pier early Wednesday. A witness phoned authorities at 6:11 a.m. Wednesday to report that a plywood boat traveling at full speed had crashed at Pier 52 in The City's Mission Bay neighborhood. The boat driver was seen slumped over the wheel shortly prior to impact.

Friday, October 3, 2014A 20 year old male pedestrian was struck by a taxi as he walked in a crosswalk in San Francisco's Marina District at the intersection of Bay and Buchanan streets near Moscone Recreation Center. The taxi driver, Raymond Rodriguez, 62, allegedly fled the scene but then returned. He was cited for speeding and released.

Thursday, September 25, 2014The stolen SUV the suspect was driving crashed about 6 a.m. at California and Battery streets in downtown San Francisco's Financial District. Morning traffic was severly disrupted as police investigated the accident.

Saturday, September 20, 2014The driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a female pedestrian in the vicinity of the Stockton Tunnel in San Francisco's Chinatown district this morning has been arrested for vehicular manslaughter.The cause of the collision remains under investigation and the identities of the victim and the driver have not been released.

Thursday, September 18, 2014The incident started in the 1300 block of Hayes Street when a DPT officer was issuing a traffic citation to Mounsombath’s vehicle, Officer Albie Esparza said. The officer jumped on the hood of the car to avoid being run over and held on to it as Mounsombath fled.

Tuesday, September 2, 2014The loaded truck toppled over, trapping the driver and sending the back doors of the rig flying open. While firefighters worked to free the driver from the wrecked truck, traffic was backing up in the area. Driver's identity and condition not known.

Thursday, August 28, 2014"It's just sad, very, very sad," Director of Public Works Mohammed Nuru said. "Any time there is an accident - and a fatal accident - in the type of work that we do, it rings a bell through the whole organization. We are reminding people to be cautious and safe. We are reinforcing all of our safety training and asking people ... to be calm." From preliminary information from his staff at the scene, Nuru said it appeared the worker who was killed was in front of the truck on the opposite side from the driver, slipped and was run over.
