A mother and her three young daughters were hurt, two of them seriously, after their SUV crashed into a utility pole in Orange County Thursday evening, police say.

The SUV went down a hill and crashed into the pole outside a supermarket parking lot on Tower Drive in Wallkill at about 8 p.m., according to State Police. It's not clear what caused the crash.

The mother and her 5-year-old daughter in the front seat were taken by ambulance to Orange Regional Medical Center, police said.

A short pursuit in Cincinnati ended in a multi-vehicle crash and a driver on the run.

An Ohio state trooper tried to pull over a speeding car on Columbia Parkway just after 10 a.m., but the driver refused to stop.

The chase ended when the pursued car crashed into two others near the intersection of Columbia Parkway and Delta Avenue.

The driver of the fleeing car ran away from the scene into nearby woods. Officers searched for nearly an hour before finding the driver, Rico Master, 27.

Master faces charges for felony eluding and driving under suspension.

Four people were hurt, one critically, in a multi-car crash in Woodland Hills Thursday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Alcohol was believed to be involved and investigators are currently looking into whether street racing was involved as well, according to the LAPD.

The collision happened about 9:45 p.m. in the 5600 block of Oakdale Avenue just north of the Ventura (101) Freeway and east of Winnetka Avenue.

Debris from the crash was strewn across three lanes of roadway and one car landed on a sidewalk near a bus bench, according to aerial footage.

A woman was killed and a man hospitalized after being struck by a truck as they attempted to cross a busy West Side street Thursday night.

San Antonio Police said it was dark and drizzling when the couple tried to cross Culebra Road near Northwest 24th Street around 8:30 p.m.

A man in his 20s headed east on Culebra in a Ford Ranger pickup told officers he didn't see the pair in the road.

The woman, Ernestina Herrera, 59, was pronounced dead at 9:15 p.m. at the scene, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner's office.

Southington Police have identified the man killed in a one car crash Thursday afternoon.

Police say that William Mazo, 19, of Middlefield, was driving a Chevy Avalanche on Meriden Ave. just before 3 p.m. when the SUV crossed over the double yellow line.

The SUV left the roadway and traveled for several hundred feet before colliding with a tree.

Mazo was pronounced dead at the scene. David Lanning, 20, also of Middlefield, was a passenger in the car. Lanning was trasported to Hartford Hospital by Lifestar.

A single-engine aircraft crashed in the front yard of a home in Central California on Thursday, killing two people on board.

A Federal Aviation Administration spokesman says a Cessna 172 plane crashed at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday, approximately 800 feet west of a runway at Fresno’s Chandler Airport.

The plane hit a tree before crashing, authorities said, and caught fire on impact. No one on the ground was injured.

A Fresno Fire Department spokesman says the two victims were the adult male pilot and a boy, about 9 years old.

Their names were not released.

A 26-year-old Birmingham man died early Thursday after crashing into a utility pole in Bessemer, according to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.

The victim has been identified as Christopher Amon Wilson, Deputy Coroner Phillip Russell said.

Wilson, who authorities believe was speeding, was driving south on 9th Avenue North near 26th Street early Thursday. He lost control of his vehicle, which crashed into a utility pole and then rolled over.

The crash happened around 3:30 a.m. Wilson was taken to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.

Travelers headed east on Interstate 70 faced long delays Thursday morning after a tractor trailer caught fire near the Twin Tunnels.

CDOT reported the crash around 9:30 a.m. By 1:45 p.m. the highway was reopened.

A tractor trailer carrying crushed cars rolled onto its side and caught fire, said Idaho Springs Police Chief Dave Wohlers.
I-70 was closed at Idaho Springs and drivers were detoured onto Highway 9 to U.S. 285 for several hours.

Travelers should be prepared for “extremely long delays.”

Two men were killed after the car they were traveling in lost control and struck a tree in Coral Springs.

Authorities said they found a 1995 Eagle Talon wrapped around a large tree on the 11900 Block of Lakeview Drive at about 5:30 a.m.

The car was traveling eastbound on Lakeview Drive when it lost control around a curve and left the roadway, Coral Springs Police said.

One man was killed and another was injured Thursday when vehicle veered off a roadway in Titusville and slammed into several trees, according to officials.

Police said the driver, Richard Eckhardt, 51, of Titusville, was killed in the crash. His passenger, Paul E. Nash, 52, of Titusville, was critically injured.

The crash, involving a 2001 Pontiac Firebird, happened about 4 p.m. on Fox Lake Road.

Police are trying to determine if alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
