The crash caused a small brushfire, police said Wednesday, but firefighters were able to quickly put out the blaze. The occupants of the SUV hit by the crashed car, which included small children, were not hurt. Police are trying to find secondary ID numbers on the car, since all that was left of the car is a charred frame and destroyed license plates.  To identify the woman in the burned car, coroner's officials will need to make a DNA comparison to her relatives, a process that could take weeks

Three of the people involved had serious injuries, and six others had moderate to minor injuries. The crash caused the semi-truck to spill its contents of liquid concrete all over the highway. At least one car in the crash caught fire as result of the chaos.

An 11-year-old San Francisco girl died and four other people were hurt about 12:55 a.m Sunday when their SUV veered off I-280 in Burlingame and went down an embankment. They were traveling north on Interstate 280 in a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban south of Trousdale Avenue. Driver Mandingo Cummings suffered major injuries and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital. Three other passengers, Tierra Cummings, 31; Lashawena Collins, 20, and a 7-month-old girl all suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Fire fighters had to use a rope rescue system to lift the man back to the road, where he was then airlifted to a hospital with serious head, chest, and extremity injuries. Even after surgery, the man is still in critical condition.

Brian Devoto was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze, and Krisha Caraballos was driving a 2011 Nissan Sentra, but it was not immediately clear who had been driving the wrong way, according to Officer Art Montiel of the California Highway Patrol. It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

A vehicle left the roadway and hit four pedestrians, and then a light pole. All four pedestrians and the driver were taken to a local hospital. No one was killed, but all were injured. No identities released yet.

A motorcyclist was hospitalized with a broken leg after crashing into a container truck. He was weaving in and out of traffic when he got his front tire stuck in the left rear of the truck. The truck's driver, Ren Kong, 60, reported he never saw the rider and only pulled over when he heard what sounded like a crash.

The Bay Fair BART station has reopened after a train struck a person tonight, a BART spokesman said.A report of a person under a train came in around 8:05 p.m. at the station at 15242 Hesperian Blvd., BART spokesman Jim Allison said.A southbound train heading toward Fremont struck the person and passengers on the involved train were evacuated, BART police Lt.

Pinkham crashed while driving on rural Warm Springs Road. He ran off of the roadway and hit a fence and several trees. Fortunately, there were no other vehicles involved. He was arrested but released to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
