Elisabet Flores, 39, was driving her husband and 13-year-old son Saturday evening when her vehicle exitied the roadway and collided with a fence near the Hermiston rural fire station. Flores, a first-grade teacher, died at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston. Neither passenger was injured. The cause of the crash is under investigation. 14 year old Fisher Schroeder was sitting in the center seat of a 2000 Ford Excursion driven by Todd Schroeder when it lost control and rolled over into the center median, ejecting Fisher from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead on site. The driver and two juvenile passengers sustained minor injuries while passenger Jerry Schroeder was transported to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland for treatment to more serious injuries. The story will be updated as more information becomes available.
