It occured about 2:30 p.m. Friday on Interstate 81 in Hagerstown. The driver, 59-year-old Donald W. Hall of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, was traveling north when the rig veered off the side of the road, hit guardrail and bridge support and burst into flames. Troopers say the truck was hauling recyclables. Hall was pronounced dead at the scene.

Darren Reeder was riding his motorcycle when a white pickup truck collided with him at an intersection. Reeder was fatally injured, and the pickup did not stop to help. The man driving the pickup, later identified as 49-year-old Nathaniel Hart, is facing charges of manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol.

A 29-year-old Point of Rocks man was killed Thursday when his motorcycle left the road as he fled from a Maryland State Police traffic stop near Hagerstown, authorities said.

Zachary A. Macintosh, of the 1600 block of Gibbons Road, was pronounced dead around 1 p.m. along eastbound Route 40 near Beverly Road, where his 1999 Suzuki GSXR-750 motorcycle went off the road, State Police said.

Maryland State Police say a Pennsylvania man has died after a car traveling the wrong way on Interstate 70 hit a pickup truck head-on. Police say a Pontiac Bonneville was traveling westbound in eastbound lanes of I-70 near Hancock on Sunday night when it collided head-on with a Chevrolet Silverado. The driver of the Pontiac, 50-year-old Larry Allen Martz of Mayport, Pa., was flown to Meritus Medical Center, where police say he was later pronounced dead. The three people in the truck were treated on the scene and released.

Maryland State Police troopers say two people have died following a three-car crash on I-81 in Williamsport. The State Police says it happened at about 11:20 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities say an investigation found that a 2004 Jeep slowed due to a backup related to road construction. Troopers say the driver of a 2010 Ford pickup truck failed to notice the backed up traffic and hit the Jeep, which erupted in flames. The truck then hit a 1994 Chevrolet Blazer.

State police say two people were killed in a single-vehicle crash in Hagerstown.

Police say the driver, 31-year-old Shawn Minnick of Hagerstown, lost control of her BMW coupe around 2 a.m. Saturday on Cearfoss Pike. Police say Minnick ran off the road while trying to pass another car. Her car hit a utility pole, a utility box and a boulder before coming to rest on its roof.

Minnick and her male passenger, 29-year-old Courtney Bridge, were killed.
