Two 21-year-olds died early Thursday when their vehicle collided with a semi on Interstate 55 in Channahon Township at 1:00 a.m. Both occupants of a Buick Regal were ejected from the vehicle. Tyler Fox, of Channahon, and Darcy Chobar, of Shorewood, were pronounced deceased at the crash site. The truck driver, Carlos Ward, 56, was not injured.
Three people were transported to local hospitals Thursday with non-life-threatening injuries after a collision on northbound Interstate 55 near Bolingbrook. The accident involved multiple motorcycles. The cause of the collision is being investigated. One person was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, while two others were transported to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital.
At around 8:15 a.m., the Illinois State Police Executive Protection Unit officers were involved in a routine movement of Governer Rauner when one of the vehicles in the motorcade was involved in a traffic accident. One of the tail vehicles lost control and struck the rear axle of a semi-trailer. The trooper traveling in the vehicle was taken to a local hospital and was treated and released. The governor's vehicle was not involved in the crash.
