Multiple vehicle crash on Interstate 55
Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be a factor, police said.
Three people were transported to local hospitals Thursday with non-life-threatening injuries after a collision on northbound Interstate 55 near Bolingbrook. The accident involved multiple motorcycles. The cause of the collision is being investigated. One person was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, while two others were transported to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital.
Since motorcycle crashes often end in serious injuries, victims need immediate help
Motorcycle accidents are more likely to end in serious injuries or death for the motorcyclist, since the rider is not protected from the force of a collision. When a motorcycle accident happens, the injured rider needs immediate, appropriate medical care, the accident needs to be investigated, and the insurance companies need to be informed.
When a motorcycle crash is caused by negligence, additional steps need to be taken to protect the legal rights of the injured motorcyclist or the family members of someone killed in a motorcycle crash. Go here to learn more about motorcycle accidents and claims.
