Police are looking for the driver of an SUV that struck and injured a woman walking on the street on Tuesday morning in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District and then drove away. Police said a black SUV struck the woman at Turk and Leavenworth Streets at around 9:45 a.m.. The woman was transported to San Francisco General Hospital. The extent of her injuries were not reported.

Officials continue to investigate a crash in east Orange County that closed southbound lanes of a busy road. Orange County Fire Rescue said the crash occurred just before 11 a.m. Monday on Goldenrod Road at Valencia College Lane. A 32-year-old man was trapped inside a vehicle and was later taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Firefighters in Charlotte have cleared a vehicle crash that all but closed access to Interstate 77 southbound from Interstate 85 southbound Tuesday morning. The incident was reported at 6:59 a.m. at milemarker 38. That's the ramp from I-85 to I-77 southbound. The left lane of the ramp is closed. The accident was cleared from the roadway by 8 a.m., according to NCDOT. Medic transported one patient with potentially life threatening injuries.

A man was arrested after crashing his car during a police chase and then trying to run from officers. A police officer saw a car driving erratically on Richmond near Shepard around 2 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Houston Police Department. When the officer tried to pull over the driver, he sped off and police pursued. Officials said the man raced down Richmond for a few blocks before crashing into a truck. Police said the driver jumped out of the car and took off running. Police quickly caught him. Officials said the man is suspected of drunken driving. Charges against him are pending.

San Francisco police say an elderly pedestrian was struck and killed in an intersection in the city’s Crocker Amazon neighborhood Tuesday afternoon. Police said the man was hit by a car at the intersection of Rolph and Naples around 3:30 p.m. and later died from his injuries at San Francisco General Hospital. The circumstances of the crash are still under investigation. A spokesman said the driver is cooperating with police. This is the second time a vehicle has killed a pedestrian in San Francisco this week.

A man accused of driving under the influence was arrested after crashing into a pole in Stockton’s Seaport District. Andrew Lopez, 23, was arrested for DUI, child endangerment and other traffic-related charges after he crashed while racing with another vehicle, according to Stockton police. He was driving with two juveniles in the area of Sonora and Lincoln Street at around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when he lost control of his vehicle and hit the pole.

In Manchester, a 29-year-old Allentown woman was seriously hurt in an accident Tuesday evening at about 7:30 p.m. A Toyota Echo driven by Christine Decker, 29, of Allenstown apparently jumped lanes on North Main Street and slammed into a utility pole, police said. The witness described the car crossing onto the northbound lane on North Main Street and crashing into a utility pole.The Toyota sustained heavy front end damage in the wreck, which happened near Manchester High School West. Decker was taken to Catholic Medical Center for treatment.

North Carolina Highway Patrol says an infant was one of three people who died because of a vehicle crash in Bertie County Friday night. Two adults and a baby were traveling west on State Road 1001 near Colerain when their vehicle strayed to the right of the road, struck a ditch and crashed into a tree. Troopers say the vehicle caught fire, and 48-year-old Willie Lee Perry, 52-year-old Phyllis Perry, and 1-year-old Madison Perry passed away. Highway Patrol said the three shared the same home address, but it is not clear the exact relationship between them.

A man was killed New Year's Eve after his car flipped over on Highway 1 in west Marin County, according to the California Highway Patrol. The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. north of the town of Marshall. Witnesses reported that two vehicles had been traveling north and crossed over the double yellow lines to pass other traffic, said Officer Andrew Barclay, a CHP spokesman.

A Waynoka man died after his vehicle collided with a passing train Monday. Michael Linn Weber, 47, was killed about 5:05 p.m. Monday as he was driving south on County Road 480, a half mile east of County Road 470 in Woods County. He passed over railroad tracks at an unguarded crossing and was hit by an oncoming train that had 88 cars. Weber was ejected from his vehicle and died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
