An 18-wheeler hit and killed a little boy as he rode a dirt bike his parents gave him for Christmas. Seven-year-old Tristan Mericle died after a tractor-trailer struck him Tuesday evening. Troopers and say the seven-year-old was riding a dirt bike in his front yard and drove onto Highway 97, right into the path of the big rig, as he tried to turn the bike around.

According to Coppell Police, a Hurst resident crashed into a median, and ended up in Grapevine Creek. 61 year old, Jay T. Clement, died in the single car crash. He was traveling eastbound on I-635, when his Toyota Highlander left the roadway and continued in the median, where it finally came to a stop in the creek. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Two people were injured and two trucks caught fire Tuesday morning after three semi-trucks crashed in Northwest Indiana. The crash shut down all northbound lanes, and police had opened one lane by 8:15 a.m. The three semis crashed while traveling northbound on Interstate 65 near Ridge Road around 3:24 a.m., Indiana State Police said. A driver and passenger in one of the trucks were transported to an area hospital, but details on their conditions were not immediately known.

City police are investigating a fatal pedestrian-involved crash. Officers were called to the 5600 block of Belair Road to a call that a pedestrian struck around 10 p.m. Tuesday. Investigators said a Chevy Malibu was heading northbound on Belair Road when it struck the victim who was walking westbound in the road. Police said the victim, identified as 28-year-old Tasia Nicole Henley, was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead at 10:57 pm. Information on the identity of the Chevey Malibu driver or whether any charges have been filed has not yet been released.

A central New Jersey borough councilman has died in a car accident a day before he was to be sworn in to his second term in office. Authorities stated that 53-year-old Keyport resident Clemente Toglia’s car crossed into an oncoming traffic lane on Tuesday and collided with another vehicle in nearby Tinton Falls. It’s unknown what caused the crash, which occurred around 3:30 p.m. The driver of the other vehicle suffered a broken wrist.

A 17-year-old was seriously hurt after a Tuesday afternoon crash on slick roads. It happened around 3:40 p.m. on M-89 near 46th Street in Ross Township, according to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Department. The 17-year-old male driver from Augusta was headed west on M-89 when he lost control on the slushy roads. His car slid, crossed the center line, and was hit on the passenger's side by an eastbound vehicle. The 17-year-old was taken to Borgess Hospital and was listed in serious condition Tuesday evening. The 55-year-old driver of Tecumseh was treated at the scene and released.

An overturned tanker truck on Buford Highway snarled traffic in DeKalb County on Tuesday. The tanker overturned on the ramp from Interstate 285 eastbound to Buford Highway around 5 p.m. As of 10 p.m., all lanes on the ramp were blocked and southbound traffic on Buford Highway was being diverted through the left turn lane. Crews worked to transfer the tanker's 8,500 gallons of fuel into other vehicles.

A woman has died in a wreck with a Cumberland County sheriff's deputy. State troopers say the crash happened at about 10:30 p.m. Monday as two deputies in separate vehicles responded to a call about a possible suicide attempt. Troopers say the woman's SUV allegedly hit one deputy's car but didn't stop. Somewhere between Fayetteville and Hope Mills, authorities say the woman hit the second deputy's car as they entered a sharp curve in the road. The woman was killed in that crash, and the deputy broke an ankle. The deputy involved in the first crash wasn't hurt.

A stretch of Interstate 95 in Flagler County reopened Tuesday evening after being closed for more than 13 hours when a driver was killed in a fiery crash that damaged the roadway, officials say. Florida Highway Patrol crews were called around 4 a.m. Tuesday to I-95 northbound near Palm Coast Parkway in Palm Coast in reference to a crash. Troopers said a big rig transporting fuel and a tractor-trailer collided. The truck carrying fuel exploded, killing the driver Christopher Mceuen, 41, of Jacksonville according to the FHP.

A 24-year-old Illinois man was killed Monday in a two-vehicle crash in Iowa County. Leander R. Vethanayagamony, of Bolingbrook, Ill., was traveling east on Highway 18 about 11:30 a.m. when he was hit by a Dodge Grand Caravan, according to the Iowa County Sheriff's Office. The van was driven by Sally A. Brownell, 60, of Linden, who was traveling west on Highway 18 when she went off the right shoulder. She overcorrected, losing control of her vehicle and spinning into the eastbound lane, where she hit the oncoming car, a new release stated.
