A man accused of murder in a fatal crash this morning in Tuscaloosa is now in custody. The crash happened about 3 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of McFarland Boulevard and 15th Street. Two people were killed and four others injured. Investigators with the Tuscaloosa Metro Homicide Unit discovered KiAnthony Davis ran a red light at the intersection and hit the victim’s vehicle. Davis has been charged with two counts of murder.

A 29-year-old man was killed after a hit-and-run driver blew a stop sign and crashed into his car early Wednesday in Staten Island, cops said. Felipe Avila was driving a 1996 Toyota Celica north along Lafayette Ave. in New Brighton when a white 2003 Volvo S80 going east on Cassidy Place didn’t stop and slammed into him just after 5 a.m. Wednesday, cops said. The Volvo’s driver then slammed into a parked Dodge SUV. The driver stopped only to ditch his ride and run away. Avila died en route to Richmond University Medical Center, cops said.

A driver led La Mesa police on a chase Wednesday night that entered Lemon Grove and ended in a crash and arrest. No one was injured. At around 9:35 p.m. a La Mesa officer observed a driver in a white Dodge Charger run a stop sign at Waite Drive and Harris Street. The driver ignored the officer’s attempt to pull him over, kicking off a chase on state Highway 94 and city streets. The Dodge’s driver turned off his lights and attempted to lose officers by running stop signs and red traffic signals, according to a statement from La Mesa police.

A man cited on suspicision of driving under the influence of intoxicants ran a stop light and caused a three-vehicle crash Monday morning in Vancouver. Branden Clark Savage, 21, of Vancouver was driving a 1995 Toyota Camry south on Northeast 42nd Avenue about 4:15 a.m. when, troopers say, he ran the stop light at state Highway 500. Two westbound vehicles were involved in the crash. A 2005 Jeep Cherokee crashing into the Camry, and the Camry crashed into a 2005 Toyota RAV4.

Rescuers in Lewisville are on the scene of a serious crash involving a school bus and at least two vehicles. The accident happened on Highway 121 Business and Railroad Street, just east of Interstate-35E and south of Main Street. The school bus was empty, besides the driver. There are reports that the driver of one of the vehicles ran a red light and hit the school bus.

Washington Township police are investigating a Saturday crash that resulted in the death of a Hagerstown, Md., man. Police said Sunday that Delbert Stevenson died following a crash that occurred on the 11000 block of Anthony Highway, Waynesboro. According to police, a vehicle, operated by Jason Pecho of McConnellsburg, was traveling west on Tomstown Road, and failed to stop at a stop sign. In the intersection, he struck Stevenson’s 2012 Chevrolet, which was traveling north on Anthony Highway, police said.

The estranged wife of George Zimmerman was taken to a hospital after her vehicle was struck by a driver suspected of DUI, according to Winter Park police. Shellie Zimmerman was taken to Winter Park Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after the crash, which occurred at 11:14 a.m. Friday near Aloma and Phelps Avenues. Winter Park police said Zimmerman suffered abrasions from the air bag and complained of a foot injury. A passenger in Zimmerman's car, Andrea Timko, described as a female friend, was also taken to the hospital.

A 38-year-old woman was arrested in Appleton Thursday after police say she drove while drunk, ran a red light and crashed into a pickup truck, leaving one person with life-threatening injuries. The crash occurred about 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Kensington Drive and E. College Ave. The 72-year-old Green Bay man driving the truck was injured, but is expected to recover. The female driver and two of her passengers, a 22-year-old Appleton man and a 56-year-old Neenah woman, were injured in the crash. The Neenah woman's injuries were described as life-threatening.

A tanker carrying thousands of gallons of fuel overturned and burst into flames on a Long Island highway just before midnight Tuesday, causing two injuries and an inferno that charred several cars, damaged four homes and a Harley-Davidson dealership, Nassau County authorities say. The tanker was traveling east on Sunrise Highway in Bellmore when it rear-ended another vehicle at a stop light, Nassau County police say. After the collision, the tanker turned on its side and spilled fuel as it skidded down Sunrise Highway before coming to a stop at Brevoort Place.

A 17-year-old girl was seriously injured Tuesday morning when she collided with the rear end of a school bus on foggy Highway 89/91 in Cache County. Logan police said the accident report came in at 7:37 a.m. from the area of 800 West and 1700 South. A girl was driving an Oldsmobile Alero westbound on 800 West and because of dense fog did not see the stop sign at the road’s intersection with the highway. She went into the intersection and collided with the rear of the bus, which was carrying more than a dozen children to Adams Elementary School in Logan, police said.
