Providence police say a motorist was 2 1/2 times the legal limit for alcohol when he hit a parked car, nearly crashed into a police cruiser and sped through Providence with a street sign lodged under his truck.

Flynn D. Grinnan of Providence was charged with driving under the influence and 10 traffic violations, after his arrest on Saturday.

Police stated that his blood-alcohol level was 0.2 percent. The legal limit is .08 percent.

A police officer said Grinnan’s truck veered onto a sidewalk, taking down a ‘‘no parking’’ sign and dragging it.

Rescue units responded to an accident involving a DART train and a vehicle that left one person dead in Fair Park on Saturday morning, say Dallas Fire-Rescue.

DART'S media representative, said the driver of the car was traveling north-bound on 2nd Avenue at Scyene Road. According to the spokesperson, the driver may have ignored the warning lights and bells that sound when the railroad crossing arms come down.

One person is dead after a rollover crash in Windham Saturday night.

Police say they were called to North Lowell Road just before 7:30 p.m. where they discovered a woman inside an overturned vehicle.

Police identified the sole occupant as Angela Cataldi, 25, of Derry.

Cataldi was taken to the hospital where police say she later died from her injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Police said one person died after an accident in Kirkwood Saturday evening.

Authorities said the driver, Vladimir Paradovskiy, 67, was driving on Interstate 270 when he veered off the right side of the highway and struck the guardrail. Police said he then over-corrected and hit the concrete median.

He was taken to an area hospital but later died.

Police are investigating the cause of an early morning crash that killed the passenger and left the driver with life threatening injuries.

The one-car accident happened on westbound US 40 at Fairview in Independence, Mo.

According to the Independence Police Department, the Chevrolet Trailblazer was headed westbound on US 40 when it left the road and overturned. The passenger of the vehicle was ejected. That person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was extricated from the vehicle and was taken to an area hospital with life threatening injuries.

An Arlington man was arrested after crashing his car into a busy restaurant, injuring a person who was dining inside.

It happened around 6 p.m. at Scutra Restaurant on Summer Street.

A 70-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Following an investigation, the driver, Nick Martirosyan, 57, of Arlington, was placed under arrest and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol (second offense) and negligent driving.

Multiple cars were involved in a crash along Interstate 25 and Logan Street Saturday morning, killing one person, police said.

Police said in a tweet that the crash, which happened around 11 a.m., involved over 30 vehicles in the northbound lanes and closed I-25.

Denver Health said on Twitter that they received multiple patients from the crash.

During a media briefing at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon, a chief paramedic at Denver Heath, said 20 individuals had been transported to the hospital plus one fatality.

Two men suffered injuries when they crashed their vehicle into North Lake in Irvine.

The incident occurred around 9 p.m. Friday. The car was traveling southbound on Yale Avenue when it struck a retaining wall, went airborne and landed in the lake. The car was fully submerged upside down.

The two men, in their early 20s, were able to get out of the car and swim to the shore. They both suffered moderate injuries. They said they were the only occupants in the car at the time of the crash.

A four-year-old Granite City, Ill. girl and 11-year-old Granite City, Ill. boy are dead after a Saturday afternoon crash in Jefferson County, Missouri.

Four-year-old Bryleigh Greene and 11-year-old Ethan Price were passengers in the car that was struck. Three other people were injured.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened at approximately 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of Frontier and State Roads.

Vermont State Police troopers are investigating a head on-crash on Interstate 89 in Waterbury that seriously injured one of the drivers.

Police say that at about 3:20 a.m. Saturday a vehicle that was headed southbound in the northbound lane collided with a northbound tractor trailer truck.

After the collision the truck crossed the median and came to rest across both southbound lanes.

The driver of the car, later identified as Brian German, 38, was taken to Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington with serious bodily injuries.
