Police say an MTA bus struck and killed a 21-year-old woman in Brooklyn early Saturday.
Marisol Martinez was walking on Union Avenue in Williamsburg at around 1:30 a.m. when a bus made a turn and hit her.
Martinez was declared dead after being taken to Woodhull Hospital.
Martinez’s family says she was a full-time student at Hunter College and that she was on her way back home from getting pizza with friends when she was hit by the bus.
Police say charges haven't been brought against the bus driver but the accident is still being investigated.
Police are investigating the cause of an early morning crash that killed the passenger and left the driver with life threatening injuries.
The one-car accident happened on westbound US 40 at Fairview in Independence, Mo.
According to the Independence Police Department, the Chevrolet Trailblazer was headed westbound on US 40 when it left the road and overturned. The passenger of the vehicle was ejected. That person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident occurred around 9 p.m. Friday. The car was traveling southbound on Yale Avenue when it struck a retaining wall, went airborne and landed in the lake. The car was fully submerged upside down.
The two men, in their early 20s, were able to get out of the car and swim to the shore. They both suffered moderate injuries. They said they were the only occupants in the car at the time of the crash.
Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that happened just after midnight near 43rd Avenue and Bell Road in Phoenix.
The driver of a Nissan Sentra was traveling southbound on 43rd Avenue and had just driven through the Bell Road intersection when they realized they had missed their turn, according to a spokesperson for the Phoenix Police Department.
