Police say an MTA bus struck and killed a 21-year-old woman in Brooklyn early Saturday.
Police say an MTA bus struck and killed a 21-year-old woman in Brooklyn early Saturday.
Marisol Martinez was walking on Union Avenue in Williamsburg at around 1:30 a.m. when a bus made a turn and hit her.
Martinez was declared dead after being taken to Woodhull Hospital.
Martinez’s family says she was a full-time student at Hunter College and that she was on her way back home from getting pizza with friends when she was hit by the bus.
Police say charges haven't been brought against the bus driver but the accident is still being investigated.
Residents who live near the intersection where Martinez was killed say it can be difficult to navigate, with an off-ramp from the BQE merging into several roads.
