Police say an MTA bus struck and killed a 21-year-old woman in Brooklyn early Saturday.
Marisol Martinez was walking on Union Avenue in Williamsburg at around 1:30 a.m. when a bus made a turn and hit her.
Martinez was declared dead after being taken to Woodhull Hospital.
Martinez’s family says she was a full-time student at Hunter College and that she was on her way back home from getting pizza with friends when she was hit by the bus.
Police say charges haven't been brought against the bus driver but the accident is still being investigated.
New York state police say a life was lost in a crash that tied up the New England Thruway for hours between Westchester County and Connecticut.
The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. Friday in Rye near the entrance ramp from I-287 to northbound I-95.

Severe winter weather conditions that caused a white-out on Route 5 in the Silver Creek section of the Town of Sheridan caused a 12-vehicle accident at noontime Thursday and sent ten persons, including two Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies to area hospitals with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office announced in Mayville.
