Police say an MTA bus struck and killed a 21-year-old woman in Brooklyn early Saturday.

Marisol Martinez was walking on Union Avenue in Williamsburg at around 1:30 a.m. when a bus made a turn and hit her.

Martinez was declared dead after being taken to Woodhull Hospital.

Martinez’s family says she was a full-time student at Hunter College and that she was on her way back home from getting pizza with friends when she was hit by the bus.

Police say charges haven't been brought against the bus driver but the accident is still being investigated.

One person in critical condition, 6 others injured, taken to hospitals, after a police pursuit leads to a multi-car crash at an intersection in Queens.

A man was clinging to life and six others were hurt Saturday following a multiple car crash in Queens, officials said. Witnesses at the scene said the crash may have been sparked by a police pursuit, but cops could not confirm those claims late Saturday. The carnage began at about 5:30 p.m. when a Honda Civic blew a red light on 99th St. at 57th Ave. in Corona and struck two vehicles — including a Mitsubishi Montero containing five people — before striking two parked cars, officials said. Paramedics rushed seven people to area hospitals.

A Southtowns man suffered fatal injuries late Saturday in a Concord crash after he lost control of his car, slid into oncoming traffic and was struck broadside by a pickup, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office said. The crash took place shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Route 240, where the victim, later identified as Joseph R. Pinelli, 32, was driving a small car in the southbound lane. Witnesses told deputies that the victim’s car slid to the right side of the road before veering into the northbound lane, where the car was struck by the pickup before ending up in a roadside ditch.

New York state police say a life was lost in a crash that tied up the New England Thruway for hours between Westchester County and Connecticut.

The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. Friday in Rye near the entrance ramp from I-287 to northbound I-95.

The ensuing traffic jam continued into the morning rush-hour.

Police say a car struck a parked State Thruway pickup truck. The truck rolled and the car hit a concrete barrier.

The person who died was riding in the front seat of the car. A back-seat passenger suffered serious injuries.

A Buffalo man who tried to avoid a traffic stop about 11:20 a.m. Friday on the Kensington Expressway ended up crashing into a tree, state police said.

Seth H. Deitsch, 33, of Niagara Street, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic needle, after police said they found a hypodermic needle and spoon with heroin residue. He also was charged with fleeing from police, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and reckless driving.

Pedestrian struck and slightly injured by hit-and-run driver on Bowery & Hester streets in Manhattan, New York

A pedestrian was injured in a hit and run in lower Manhattan. Police say the incident took place on Bowery & Hester streets. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Police recovered the car they believe was involved in the accident, but no word on if the suspect was captured.

A 57-year-old Blasdell man and a 40-year-old West Valley man were both hospitalized after a two-car crash at about 12:20 p.m. Friday at New Oregon Road and Genesee Road in the Town of North Collins, the Erie Count Sheriff’s office reported. Bernard Mazurczak of Blasdell was heading south on New Oregon when he reportedly failed to yield the right of way to a westbound snowplow at the intersection with Genesee Road. The two vehicles collided in the intersection.

10 people injured, including 2 deputies, after a 12 vehicle crash in severe weather on State Route 5 near Sheridan.

Severe winter weather conditions that caused a white-out on Route 5 in the Silver Creek section of the Town of Sheridan caused a 12-vehicle accident at noontime Thursday and sent ten persons, including two Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies to area hospitals with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office announced in Mayville.

The incident began as a sheriff’s patrol car was traveling east in the 2400 block of Route 5 in Silver Creek when numerous disabled vehicles were stopped in white-out conditions in the east bound lane.

Christopher W. Blake, 21, killed, driver Levi K. Dieterle, 21, also injured, charged with DUI, after their pickup crashes into a tree in Lockport.

An Elba man injured last week in a crash blamed on drunken driving remains in critical condition Sunday in Erie County Medical Center. Christopher W. Blake, 21, of Elba, a passenger in a pickup driven by Levi K. Dieterle, also 21, of Medina, were traveling east on Lincoln Avenue at about 1 a.m. Thursday when the vehicle struck a snowbank, mailbox then a tree, according to Niagara County sheriff’s deputies.

One person seriously injured, taken to hospital, after a multi-vehicle accident on the I-87 Thruway in the Hudson Valley.

Authorities say the northbound lanes of the Thruway in the Hudson Valley are closed by a multi-vehicle crash that has caused at least one serious injury.

The state police Thruway detail says the crash occurred around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 87, about three miles north of the Harriman toll barrier at Exit 16 in the Orange County town of Woodbury, 45 miles north of New York City.

Troopers say the crash involved a Thruway Authority plow truck, a tractor-trailer and four cars. Police say at least one person has suffered serious injuries.
