Dieterle, 22, of Burns Road, Medina, was taken to the Niagara County Jail immediately to begin serving a six-month sentence, which also counts as the first six months of a five-year probation term.

An Elba man injured last week in a crash blamed on drunken driving remains in critical condition Sunday in Erie County Medical Center.
Christopher W. Blake, 21, of Elba, a passenger in a pickup driven by Levi K. Dieterle, also 21, of Medina, were traveling east on Lincoln Avenue at about 1 a.m. Thursday when the vehicle struck a snowbank, mailbox then a tree, according to Niagara County sheriff’s deputies.
Blake was freed from the pickup by members of the Terry’s Corners Fire Company and taken to ECMC. Dieterle was taken to Eastern Niagara Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He was charged with driving while intoxicated.
