Both drivers hurt in collision of car and snowplow.

A 57-year-old Blasdell man and a 40-year-old West Valley man were both hospitalized after a two-car crash at about 12:20 p.m. Friday at New Oregon Road and Genesee Road in the Town of North Collins, the Erie Count Sheriff’s office reported.

Bernard Mazurczak of Blasdell was heading south on New Oregon when he reportedly failed to yield the right of way to a westbound snowplow at the intersection with Genesee Road. The two vehicles collided in the intersection. Mazurczak and Jason Smith of West Valley were both taken to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
