Thursday, February 27, 2014The driver of a stolen pickup was killed after crashing into power poles in Pittsburg on Thursday night and knocking out power to nearly 1,200 PG&E customers in the surrounding area, police and utility officials said.
Around 11:40 p.m., residents in the 600 block of Rockspray Circle heard a vehicle starting outside their home and looked outside to see someone driving off in their truck, police said.
Police said the residents tried to follow the driver in another car, but stopped after he began speeding at about 70 miles per hour on West 10th Street.

Phoenix, AZA bank robbery that ended with the suspect escaping on a bicycle led to a carjacking, a collision with police and a fatal officer-involved shooting Tuesday morning in a swath of the southeast Valley that encompassed Gilbert, Mesa and unincorporated areas.
The suspect, who police could only identify as a man in his 50s or 60s, was shot and killed in an apartment complex parking lot near Crismon and Broadway roads after he turned and showed a Gilbert police officer a gun, according to a Gilbert police spokesman.

Phoenix, AZA 35-year-old man led police on a chase through two cities Monday night in which he broke into three homes, brandished a gun, and demanded cars before crashing in a stolen vehicle and being taken into custody, according to Glendale police.
Julio Ivan Tinero-Figuera was not armed when police caught up with him near 47th Avenue and Bethany Home Road, but police said they located a gun in the stolen car Tinero was driving before he got the car stuck and fled on foot, said officer a Glendale police spokeswoman.

Chicago, ILThe outbound Bishop Ford was shut down following a police chase that apparently ended with an arrest on the highway.
A photo posted on Facebook shows officers standing by a squad car and putting a suspect in the back seat. The arrest happened near 115th street.
Witnesses report that officers are searching the Pullman neighborhood on foot with dogs, apparently searching for another suspect.
The chase was started by Calumet City Police, according to Illinois State Police, after they were notified that the vehicle involved was believed to be stolen in Chicago.

Tuesday, February 18, 2014Spartanburg County deputies have arrested a man they said ran away after crashing at the end of a chase in a stolen vehicle.
Timothy Robert Harrison is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, reckless driving, missing or improper displayed tag and a blue light violation, according to the Spartanburg County Detention Center website.
Master Deputy Kevin Bobo said the chase began Wednesday night after a deputy ran a tag on a vehicle in a driveway on Burnetts Road in Chesnee.

Cincinnati, OHA teenage driver is in custody after a chase and crash Monday afternoon.
Cincinnati police being chasing a stolen sport utility vehicle near the Norwood Lateral shortly after 1 p.m.
The chase was fairly low-speed, police said, rarely going over 40 mph.
The chase ended when the SUV crashed on Paddock Road just north of the Lateral. The driver fled on foot but was arrested a short distance away, police said.
The incident is still under investigation.

New York, NYA bus driver was killed and several others were injured, two of them critically, when a stolen truck and a bus collided at a West Village intersection Wednesday morning, authorities say.
The MTA bus and the truck crashed into each other at Seventh Avenue and West 14th Street shortly before 6 a.m., the FDNY says. Both vehicles then slammed into scaffolding at the intersection’s southeast corner.
Two people were taken to Beth Israel Hospital in critical condition and another two suffered minor injuries, officials said.

St. Louis, MOOne person was killed, another hospitalized following a single vehicle accident in north St. Louis City.
Authorities say a teen driver was reportedly joy riding when he lost control on ice and crashed at North Euclid and Calvin Avenues at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Witnesses at the scene said the driver was traveling at a high-rate of speed before he lost control and struck the tree.
The 15-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The male teenage passenger was rushed to the hospital in critical, unstable condition.

Minneapolis-St. Paul, MNWe are learning new details after a school bus stolen by a 14-year-old boy crashed into a Roseville gas station Monday morning.
The theft happened around 7:50 a.m. while the bus was parked on a side road with the keys inside and running near a Holiday Inn on the corner of Rice Street and Wheelock Parkway in St. Paul, according to police.

Saturday, February 1, 2014A Dover man was arrested Sunday after police in Middletown said he drove drunk, crashed a stolen vehicle into the Hurst building on South Union Street and then fled the scene of the crash.
Rueben Jason Estrada, 30, of the 3300 block of Village Court Drive, was arrested in the vicinity of a 7-11 store on East Main Street after the incident occurred around 2 a.m., police said.
The crash caused serious damage to the building, located at 29 South Union Street, according to authorities. Estrada also did not have permission to drive the vehicle involved in the incident, police said.
