A 35-year-old man led police on a chase through two cities Monday night in which he broke into three homes, brandished a gun, and demanded cars before crashing in a stolen vehicle and being taken into custody, according to Glendale police. Julio Ivan Tinero-Figuera was not armed when police caught up with him near 47th Avenue and Bethany Home Road, but police said they located a gun in the stolen car Tinero was driving before he got the car stuck and fled on foot, said officer a Glendale police spokeswoman. According to police, the incident began with a carjacking in Phoenix Monday afternoon near 43rd and Grand avenues. Police said the man in the stolen car was armed and at about 6:30 p.m., Glendale officers received a report of shots being fired near 43rd and Missouri avenues. The “shots fired” reports were immediately followed by callers reporting several home invasions in the area, police said. Investigators believe that Tinero left his first stolen car in that area and fled into a nearby neighborhood on foot, police said. Witnesses told investigators that Tinero was jumping fences into backyards and trying to force his way into houses, Breeden said. Tinero also tried to take cars from some of the homeowners but was unsuccessful until he entered a fourth home, found keys and fled in the resident’s car, police said. The second stolen car got stuck near 47th Avenue and Bethany Home and Tinero again fled through backyards in the area, police said
