A 21-year-old Gobles resident is in critical condition after a crash on Stadium Drive Tuesday night. Just after 9 p.m., Kalamazoo Sheriff deputies were called out to the 5900 block of Stadium Drive. Authorities say the 21-year-old driver was pulling out of a business parking lot and entered the roadway. When the driver did that, a vehicle going westbound struck the other one. The 21-year-old was taken to a Kalamazoo hospital. The driver’s name has not been released. The driver of the other vehicle, a 22-year-old Kalamazoo resident, was not hurt in the accident.
The fiance of a woman who was killed in a collision on State Route 167 near Puyallup early Tuesday says she was 12 weeks pregnant when she died. Jason Speers said he and his fiancee, 34-year-old Shanna Huttenstine, were in a cab headed home to Tacoma from the hospital when their cab collided with a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup, a 48-year-old Puyallup man, later identified as Anderson Hamilton, was booked into jail for vehicular homicide after the collision.
The Kenosha County Sheriff's Department said one person is dead following a crash in the village of Bristol.
Sheriff David Beth said deputies were called to 21200 County Road C for a report of a two-vehicle accident.
Deputies and Bristol Fire and Rescue personnel found that an eastbound vehicle had lost control on a curved area of road in the snow and slid sideways into a westbound vehicle.
Beth said that Haley Reitz, 20 of the Town of Salem, was pronounced dead at the scene.
