A 50-year-old Freehold woman was identified as the victim in Monday’s fiery crash on Route 9, Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor and the Old Bridge Police Chief said Tuesday.

Heidi Bennett was killed when her car was struck at about 12:33 p.m. by a tractor-trailer on Route 9 South at the Old Mill Road intersection.

An investigation the Old Bridge Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined that a 2002 Hyundai Accent, driven by Bennett, was struck in the rear by the tractor-trailer.

The man killed in a crash that shut down the Southwest Freeway on Monday afternoon was driving erratically when he struck a postal truck, Houston police say.

Police on Tuesday identified the victim as 61-year-old Dan Winfrey.

He was driving a red Jeep Cherokee southbound on the freeway when he hit a U.S. Postal Service 18-wheeler near Chimney Rock, police said.

A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday in Shoshone.

The driver was traveling south on U.S. Highway 93 about 6:30 p.m. when he missed a curve in the road and hit a pole.

The Idaho State Police identified him as 32-year-old Johnathon Jackson of Shoshone. Police told news outlets that the driver's speed and the reason for the crash are unknown.

Shoshone police, Lincoln County sheriff's deputies and Idaho State Police responded. The Idaho State Police are investigating.

A Holton man was killed Monday night after the tractor he was operating rolled down a terrace north of town, Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse said.

Officials received a report of a tractor accident about 8:55 p.m. Monday night at 27234 P. Road, Morse said.

He identified the man Tuesday as Alan H. Schlodder, 64.

Morse said a family member found Schlodder, who had suffered fatal injuries from the accident, and contacted authorities.

Fremont Fire Department ambulances transported six people to the hospital after an accident at U.S. Highway 30 and County Road 14 at about 2:40 p.m.

Hespen said members of the Baumann family, on there way to see the site of an accident that claimed a family member, were travelling east on U.S. 30 when their 2003 Oldsmobile four-door stopped to turn left onto County Road 14. The vehicle was then struck from behind by a 2010 Dodge Journey.

A Fremont man was found dead as the result of a traffic accident Monday morning.

Dodge County Sheriff Steve Hespen said James W. Baumann, 24, of Fremont, was pronounced dead on the scene after an area farmer spotted Baumann’s wrecked 2000 Chevy S-10 pickup at County Roads 14 and S shortly after 7 a.m.

Baumann had been travelling north on County Road 14 when he went through the T intersection at County Road S and struck an embankment.

Hespen said the accident is believed to have occurred sometime during the early morning hours on Monday.

A Jonesboro woman was killed Monday after her vehicle collided with another vehicle on U.S. 49 in Greene County, according to an Arkansas State Police report.

Andrea Denise Jefferson, 30, was driving north on the highway about 9:15 a.m. when her 2006 Chevrolet "crossed into the path" of a southbound 2012 Chevrolet. The report did not specify where on the highway the collision occurred.

Jefferson died from unspecified injuries. The other driver was unhurt.

Conditions at the time were described as clear and dry.

When a man accidentally drove his car into a retention pond by the Walmart on Monday afternoon, two men jumped into the water and swam to the sinking vehicle. According to the Palatka Police Department, they freed the 68-year-old driver from his seat belt, got him out of the vehicle and pulled him to shore.

A three-vehicle crash on U.S. 90 on Monday afternoon left one Jeanerette man dead and two New Iberia residents injured, a State Police spokesman said.

Jarwin Bourque, 47, died at a hospital from injuries sustained in the afternoon crash, a State Trooper said.

Troopers said Dawn Broussard, 21, of New Iberia, was traveling east on U.S. 90, east of La. 88, at 1:12 p.m. when she ran off the side of the interstate, through the median and begin driving in the opposite lane, Hammons said.

A northwest suburban woman was killed and two men were hurt when a car and an SUV collided Monday morning in Schaumburg.

The crash happened about 10:40 a.m. when a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV hit a Chevrolet Malibu that was turning left from eastbound Irving Park Road to northbound Mitchell Road, according to a statement from Schaumburg police.

The SUV had been heading west on Irving Park and hit the passenger side of the car, police said.
