Jarwin Bourque, 47, killed, Dawn Broussard, 21, Charles Robertson, 49, seriously injured, transported to hospital, after a 3-vehicle crash on U.S. 90 near New Iberia.
One dead, 2 injured in New Iberia crash.
A three-vehicle crash on U.S. 90 on Monday afternoon left one Jeanerette man dead and two New Iberia residents injured, a State Police spokesman said.
Jarwin Bourque, 47, died at a hospital from injuries sustained in the afternoon crash, a State Trooper said.
Troopers said Dawn Broussard, 21, of New Iberia, was traveling east on U.S. 90, east of La. 88, at 1:12 p.m. when she ran off the side of the interstate, through the median and begin driving in the opposite lane, Hammons said.
While in the opposite lane, she struck Bourque’s 2008 Honda and a 2010 Toyota Camry driven by Charles Robertson, 49, of New Iberia, police said.
All three were wearing their seat belts, police said. Broussard received moderate injuries; Robertson received minor injuries.
Troopers do not suspect any of the drivers were impaired; but as is usual in fatal accidents, toxicology samples were sent to the State Crime Lab for analysis, police said.
Broussard has not been arrested, but police said troopers may arrest her once their investigation is complete.
The investigation is ongoing.
