Accident injures 6 while a family is on their way to see another family members accident site.

Family members were involved in a second accident while apparently going to see the original crash site.

Fremont Fire Department ambulances transported six people to the hospital after an accident at U.S. Highway 30 and County Road 14 at about 2:40 p.m.

Hespen said members of the Baumann family, on there way to see the site of an accident that claimed a family member, were travelling east on U.S. 30 when their 2003 Oldsmobile four-door stopped to turn left onto County Road 14. The vehicle was then struck from behind by a 2010 Dodge Journey.

The driver of the Oldsmobile, Denise L. Zimmerline, 56, of Fremont, as well as passengers Edna Baumann, 63, of Fremont, Shania Griffiths, 18, of Columbus, and Aaron Baumann, 19, of Fremont, were all transported to Fremont Area Medical Center.

Aaron Baumann had to be extricated from the vehicle by Fremont Rural Fire Department crews.

Edna Baumann was later flown by medical helicopter from Fremont Area Medical Center to Creighton University Medical Center.

The driver of the Journey, Terry Cunningham, 69, and a passenger, Karolyn Cunningham, 70, both of Columbus, were both taken to Fremont Area Medical Center.

Zimmerline was the only person wearing a seatbelt in her vehicle. Both of the Cunninghams were wearing seat belts, and airbags deployed in the Journey.

Both vehicles were totaled.
