Shreveport, LAA 59-year-old woman on a scooter for mobility impaired riders was killed when a vehicle struck the scooter as she attempted to cross a roadway in east Shreveport on Wednesday.
The woman, Julia Bay, suffered serious injuries and died later at a Shreveport hospital , authorities said.

Phoenix, AZA man in a wheelchair died after being struck by a vehicle heading eastbound on University Drive in Tempe early Wednesday morning, police said.
The collision forced police to close University Drive near Loop 101, according to Tempe police.
The man, 60, hit and at about 6:15 a.m. and died on scene near University and George drives, according to Sgt. Michael Pooley, a Tempe police spokesman. Police said the driver, who was also an older man, was not impaired.
