A 59-year-old woman on a scooter for mobility impaired riders was killed when a vehicle struck the scooter as she attempted to cross a roadway in east Shreveport on Wednesday.

The woman, Julia Bay, suffered serious injuries and died later at a Shreveport hospital , authorities said.
