A 21-year-old man who was struck while crossing Camelback Road in Scottsdale has died.

Matthew D. Tilton, of Scottsdale, was hit by a blue Toyota about 11:50 p.m. on April 11 near 74th Street, according to a Scottsdale police report.

Tilton was taken to Scottsdale Healthcare-Osborn Hospital and was taken off of life support on Sunday, 4/13/14, at 4 P.M.

The driver was not cited, but police said alcohol was a likely factor on the part of Tilton.

A 50-year-old man was one of two people who were killed in a head-on crash near Orono on Friday morning.

Steven Francis Crowley of Delano died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries he sustained during the crash, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

Orono officers were called at 7:01 a.m. on a report of a collision on Highway 12 just west of County Road 6. When they arrived, they found two vehicles with severe damage.

Police say 31-year-old Rhashem Revelle of Wilmington was driving a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound on Airport Road at a high speed. As he entered into a right curve, investigators say Revelle lost control of his vehicle and crossed into the center median before re-entering the eastbound lanes.

The Jeep then exited the south side of the road and struck a raised curb before crashing into a metal traffic pole. The impact caused the vehicle to roll onto the driver’s side and slide until the top portion of the vehicle struck a tree.

A fatal crash occurred in Frederica, Delaware around 10:40 p.m. on Friday. Police say 42-year-old Tricia Martin of Camden, Delaware, was driving a 2009 Acura MDX westbound on Barratts Chapel Road.

Investigators say her Acura crossed over the eastbound lanes and off the south side of the roadway where it drove along a ditch line and collided with a telephone box and fence. The vehicle then struck an embankment, causing it to overturn on its side.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has released a statement regarding a plane crash that occurred in the Riverside area of Kanawha County, WV.

"This is preliminary information about a Piper PA-32 aircraft that apparently crashed in eastern Kanawha Co., WV at about 4 p.m. EDT.

The flight departed Akron Fulton Intl. Airport in Ohio and was destined for Spartanburg Downtown Memorial Airport in SC. Two persons were on board.

A 34-year-old Wichita woman died Friday afternoon when her convertible rolled into a ditch on K-254 near Southwest Tawakoni Road, east of Benton.

Maria L. Rodriguez was westbound on the highway when her 2006 Ford Mustang drifted off the pavement and into the grassy center median at 2:48 p.m., a Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper said.

“She definitely over-corrected, reacted to that, and then shot back across the two westbound lanes and went into the ditch on the north side of the highway,” police said.

A motorcyclist was killed Friday afternoon in a collision with an SUV on a back-country road north of Lake Cuyamaca.

The fatal accident occurred about 3 p.m. on state Route 79 at K Q Ranch Road in the Harrison Park area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The rider, whose name was not immediately available, died at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

The crash forced the closure of the rural route in the area while investigators gathered evidence.

A motorcyclist died Friday after colliding with a semi-trailer truck in Kansas City.

Ronald Claibourne Jr., 29, was traveling east on East 31st Street about 11:30 a.m. when the collision occurred at Van Brunt Boulevard, according to a Kansas City police accident investigations supervisor.

“Witnesses said he was trying to get through the intersection before the light turned red,” police said of the motorcyclist.

A 36-year-old bicyclist died after being hit by a car in eastern New Orleans on Friday morning. Another bicyclist, who was 40 years old, was taken to a hospital in serious condition, said Officer Frank Robertson III, a spokesman for the New Orleans Police Department.

Both bikers were practicing for the Ironman competition being held in New Orleans on April 13.

A 12-year-old is seriously injured after being struck by a car in the 6400-block of York Road in Towson.

The accident happened Friday afternoon at the intersection of York and Overbrook roads. Baltimore County Police say the driver remained at the scene.

The boy has been taken to Johns Hopkins by Medic.
